Has anyone else had any problems going to the bathroom since being banded. Once I got to my sweet spot and my intake was so small my outtake has almost stopped. I know this is a gross and personal subject but I know there has to be others on here with the same problem. I bought an organic 15 day cleanse to try. But the pills are so big that I am having problems getting them down and keeping them down. I try to eat at least on Fiber Bar a day. I hate to take laxitives but sometimes have to and they dont even always work. Does anyone have any suggestions? This has been a problem for at least 6 months. I would love to do a cleanse because I feel that since this has been an ongoing problem I need to get everything out. Any reccommendations of one that I can get down. Sorry for the gross subject.

positive ovulation tests 3 days in a row
karebare714 posted a topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
We just started trying to get pregnant about 6 weeks ago. I had my period at my normal time April 11 but it seemed a little light and only lasted 3 days. I didnt think anything about this at the time. I bought an ovulation kit with seven tests and it said to start taking them on day 11 of my cycle. My first test was negitive then the nest 3 have been positive. I read that you should only get 1 or 2 positives. I have been peeing alot and my breasts are so sore. I also read that if you are pregnant that it will show you ovulating all the time. If I get a 4th positive tomorrow I am going to buy a preg test. Im not due to start my period for two weeks so I dont want to waste the money if it wont show. Has anyone had experience with this? -
I have been banded for 2 1/2 years. I have been overfilled for close to a year now. I know, I know, I let it go on for way too long and it was dangerous. I was lucky and nothing went wrong. I was enjoying the great weightloss but started having problems with vimiting and dehydration. I had some fluid taken out and now can eat much more. My Dr told me that I would immediatly gain due to the dehydration and not to get discouraged. Its only been 4 days and I have gained 10 lbs. Im freaking out because I dont know how to eat now. I had got used to having a protein shake for breakfast and lunch because I couldnt eat untill the evening before. Now they dont fill me up and I need to eat solids. For dinner before I ate whatever I wanted because I could eat such a small amount. Now I can eat more so I know I have to eat healthier foods for dinner. Please give me suggestions for meals!! Thank you all!!!!

I have the same exact problem. I am good all day without much effort then at night its a tug of war mentally. I have found that if I am going to watch TV at night then I have to also workout. I have a big workout ball (I dont remember what its real name is, LOL) and free hand weights. Instead of spending the commercial breaks going to the kitchen I spend them doing sit ups on the ball, lunges, running in place and stretches with the weights for the whole commercial break. This keeps me out of the kitchen. When the want for food becomes too strong I either eat a 90 cal fiber bar (very filling, Nothing else will go down for a couple of hours) or just go to bed. I hope this has helped some. Good luck

Can you be to overweight for lap band
karebare714 replied to catherinecon's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I was 326lbs before surgery at 5'6" tall. My BMI was well over 50. I was worried that I was too overweight for the band but was scared to have the bypass. I have lost 130lbs and am still losing 2 1/2 yrs after being banded. It is slower with the band but much healthier. You can do this and you are not too big for the band. You may just have to find the right surgeon. Good luck!!! -
I just weighed at am in ONEderland for the first time in about 20 yrs!! I have always been very overweight. I wore a size 24/26 from Lane Bryant in 5th grade. I have never known what it is like to be a normal weight or wear clothes that were age appropriate for me. Before my PreOp diet I was 326lbs. The day of surgery I was 300lbs. I am now at 199lbs! I would still like to lose another 50lbs but dont know if that is out of reach. I have a fair amount of excess skin and dont have the finances to have cosmetic surgery. I am so thrilled to be out of the 200's! This was a milestone in my life that I never thought I would see. I am 29 yrs old, I wasted my teens and twenties being super obese. My 30's and on will be at a healthy weight. LapBand has saved my life! I feel like I could jump high enough to reach the clouds today!!

CONGRATULATIONS!!! YOU ARE DOING AWESOME!!

Congrats!!! I just entered ONEderland as well. Isn't it great. I wear 14's comfortably and 12's fasten but I also feel they are too tight to wear out in public. Enjoy this, you earned it!

Who Has Lost Over 100 Pounds?!?!
karebare714 replied to Rockin' Robyn's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am now down 126 lbs. I still want to lose about 50 more to be at my ideal weight. I dont know if I can do that without having some of this skin removed though. I am hoping to hit ONEderland this week. I am at 200 on the dot now. I started at a size 29W and am now in a 14 average. I can fasten a 12 but they are too tight. But to be able to shop in a regular store is amazing! I was over 200lbs at age 10! I have always been super obese so this is a whole new life for me. I thank all of you for your support and love reading everyones posts. Congratulations everyone and great job!! -
I think it will just take time for him to regain his self esteem. He is acting childish but we all do sometimes. I have lost 120lbs but am still very overweight. I just got to where I can shop in regular departments. My husband is very large. He is almost double my current weight. We have been together for 13 years and our weight has always bothered each of us about ourselves but not each other. He has been totally supportive and made his first negitive comment the other day. We were walking through the mall and he said "We are that odd couple that everyone looks at now". I was confused and asked what he meant. His reply was "We are the couple that people see and say I wonder why that pretty girl is with that FAT guy?" I was so confused. He has never said anything like that. I am with you on this one girl. I love my husband more than anything and thought we were enjoying the new me together. I think our husbands just have some adapting to do. Good luck.

Do tighter clothes make it harder for you to eat?
karebare714 replied to Saraboo's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have noticed the same thing. When I dress up I wear this midsection undergarment to hold in my muffintop. I cant eat at all when I wear it and even have to drink slow. Sometimes thats a good thing. LOL. -
Does the temp of the water matter? I hate gargleing salt water for a sore throat because it is supposed to be warm water. If I can do cold water it wont be so bad. I will def try that. I am only going to the bathroom like once very two weeks. I stay constipated. Gentle laxitives dont seem to do much and fiber supplements dont do anything. Ive only used a harsh laxitive once and it just killed my stomach. My Dr says take fiber supplements, like I said they dont seem to do much. The health food store said to start taking magnesuim daily. Maybe I will try that if the salt water flush doesnt work. I cant keep only going once every two weeks. My stomach stays so messed up. Thanks for all the suggestions everyone.

I have lost over 120lbs but still feel huge. I still have a lot to lose and dont take compliments very well. I never feel as though I deserve them. I was in a training session for work today. I know a few of the girls there but everyone else was from other offices. I was talking to one of the women I knew and we were discussing the fact that I can barely eat early in the day (lunch). One of the women that I had just met today said "What do you mean you cant eat during the day? Is something wrong?" I told her that I had weight loss surgery a couple of years ago. And the great responce that she gave me, " Did you used to be overweight? You dont look like someone that used to be overweight." OMG! She not only said I dont look overweight but that I dont look like a former overweight person either. When someone that I know and that knows about my weightloss compliments me, I always feel that they think they have to say that or they are just being nice. This was someone that seemed in awe that I was ever big enough to have weight loss surgery. I know this may not make sense to most of you but to me, she made my day. I am only 5 lbs from ONEderland, but it still feels so far away. This stranger made me feel closer to that number than the scale does. I just had to share this. Anyone else had someone make them feel thin?

Thanks everyone! What is NSV?? I went to a friends daughters birthday party yesterday. There were lots of old friends there that I havent seen in about a year. Each person saw me and there mouth just dropped. One woman said "you are just melting away!" Another didnt speak to me for about an hour. When I approached her and asked how she was doing, her reply was OMG, Karen is that you. She didnt even recognize me with my weightloss and new hairstyle. I hadnt seen her since right after my surgery 2 yrs ago. I love this. So close to ONEderland. I hope to be there in the next week or two. Thanks for all the support everyone!

Congratulations!! That is a great feeling! -
I lost my best friend shortly after having LapBand surgery. My best friend (who is my niece and the maid of honor in my wedding) has totally stopped talking to me. We were both always big together and always talked about how bad we needed to lose weight and how hard it is. When I had my surgery she was about 50-60 lbs heavier than me. She is scared to death of any kind of surgery so she said she would never think of LapBand but she was very supportive of me. She was there for me the whole time I went through my 6 mo diet and right after surgery. It was when I started losing a lot and it was really showing that she starting seperating. Once it got to the point where we only spoke a couple of times a month I asked her why she never would hang out with me anymore. Her reply was that when she sees me she feels really bad about herself. I talked to her about it and thought that it would all be good after that. She still hardly talked to me and when I ran into her she looked so uncomfortable. We havent talked in months now. I hate that I lost my best friend but its her loss not mine. I never threw my weight loss in anyones face and am still very overweight. I hope that your friend comes around and doesnt throw away a good friendship over insecurities.

I was diagnosed with PCOS over 11 yrs ago and the facial hair has gotten worse and worse! I did invest in laser hair removal on my chin and it has been great, It did take additional visits though. I would love to afford to have it done all over though. Hopfully one day soon!! Good luck!

UGH....need to find my groove...holidays are over
karebare714 replied to bostonmomma's topic in Fitness & Exercise
I did horrible over the holidays. No working out at all and ate so many sweets. I gained 12-14 lbs over the last 2 months! I am back on track now. I also got rid of anything bad in the house. I made a meal plan for the week and did the grocery shopping accordingly. I have already had my work out today. I got it done so early that I may actually have another small workout this evening. I hope this excitement for the new year and new me sticks around for a while! Happy new year and new you everyone! -
Congratulations!!!!!!!! That is such an amazing accomplishment! I cant wait to join you there. I was pretty close 2 months ago and since have gained 12 lbs. I am very disapointed in myself but am dedicated to getting there now. I can and WILL do this. You are an inspiration!

How did you do over the holidays?
karebare714 replied to lauragshsu's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
You both did amazing!! I on the other hand did horrible. I have gained a total of 12 lbs in the last 2 months. I am starting over though. I went grocery shopping today and have made out my meal plan for all 3 meals a day for the next week. I find it much easier to stick to my diet when I plan. I have been going though alot of changes in my life over the last couple of months and know that has played a part in my weight gain as well. I feel like my life is starting to get back to normal and I want to get back into gear. I have been over 200 lbs since I was in elementary school and am almost 30 yrs old now. I can't wait to get in the 100's and know I will make it there soon. Congrats to you both!! -
If you are 2 Years + post-op....
karebare714 replied to amberakamom's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have lost about 60% of my excess weight. I am still losing and doing better recently than I did from about 6 months to 18 months post op. -
Hello everyone, I was banded 10/8/08 at 321 lbs. I am currently at 219lbs. I am definatley not where I want to be but a lot healthier and happier than I was before. I did great for the first few months then it was like I went on hiatus for about a year. But I have done pretty good for the last 9 or 10 months. I have lost 60lbs in the last 9-10 months. I hope to get under 200 by the end of the year. 20 lbs to go. I am at my sweet spot but haven't been working out like I should at all. Thanks for listening to me vent and I hope to join most of you all in ONEderland soon.

Poll - Weight for Normal Size Clothing
karebare714 replied to Bandster25's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Im 5'6" and 221 lbs. Im bigger up top than the bottom. not much in the way of butt or hips. I wear 14 in jeans but still a 1x or 2x in tops to be comfortable. The 2x's look too big but I think the drape look hides my inner tube roll. LOL. 1x top and 14 bottom are about right on me with my body type now. I would love to wear a 10 in jeans and L in tops. Maybe someday. -
Does your brain ever catch up with your body?
karebare714 replied to sara31's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My brain still says "You look fat in that, put on a looser shirt" everytime I look in the mirror. I went from wearing a tight size 26 jeans to a size 14 jeans and still look at myself with the same disgust when I look in the mirror. I used to think that a size 14 wasnt that big. Now that I fit into it I think its huge. However I am smaller on the bottom than the top. I wear a 1x shirt with loose pants or a 2x shirt with tight jeans. I have PCOS so I hold most of my weight in my upper stomach. I have that inner tube look even when I'm naked. I always feel that people see me and think "her pants are way too tight, thats why she has that roll." but gods honest truth I have the same roll when i'm naked. I hate it and would love to have lipo done on that one area. It would make sucha difference in my self esteem. oh well, you all know how much I hate my looks now. Maybe if I ever make it below 200lbs I will like my looks better. :wink2:
