Thank you for getting back to me, Alex, I do appreciate the time you've taken to provide an explanation. I hope that it is the case that we see more stability. As of about 20 mins ago, chat went down again. I hope that as the issues get worked out, this will happen less and less and members will return. I've been a member here over 2 years and I don't intend to leave. I just hope the issues get resolved relatively quickly.

Awwww thanks JPT!! I did have a blog but I posted it on another (non lapband related site) I used to frequent. I'll see if it's still there and I'll pm you the link. I basically lost about 90lbs in 10 months, which isn't fast nor slow. I guess I was just lucky. The band worked for me when nothing else did before. -

yep, me! Got banded Aug 2008, went from BMI 37 to BMI 21. No issues, no complications, nothing. There are plenty of lapbanders who don't have complications. The thing is, they usually lose their weight, go off and live their lives and stop posting. There isn't a lot of incentive to post when everything's fine. It's when something isn't going well, that you seek advice, and post. So the posts you're reading about on here aren't really a representative sample of how the band works in general. -

At past goal I can see my port easily. And feel it from the outside. But I cant feel the port usually, as in as it sits under my skin, and I can't physically feel the band at all. -

Hi, I live in Australia so it's different. My Insurance and Medicare paid for a fair chunk of it, but I can't tell you whether US insurers would cover something like that. -

yes it's normal not to feel restriction prior to a few fills. Some need no fills (rare) but most need a few to get the kind of restriction that will assist with portion control. It's good you haven't gained or lost as many at this point in time tend to gain. Or you can watch what you eat and exercise and lose as if you were on a diet until such time as restriction kicks in. That's what I did.
