Lol yes, yes and yes. My boyfriend went from his previous girlfriend who had no libido to meeting me 2 years ago and thinking all his Christmases came at once. Two years on and I'm still not slowing down! He calls me his nympho sex kitten roflmao.

Yeah, my regrets are gone, along with the nausea.

It's a deal! I'm aiming for 130lbs by end July! Let's go! And omg I now have to spend some major dollars on iron fist. I have some of their shoes already! -
In fact I'm pretty much feeling 100% now. My port incision still hurts a little but that's the extent of my discomfort of late. I'm even back to wearing the jeans that I couldn't quite get into earlier this year. This pic is of me in those very jeans TODAY. I did my post op appt early too, by one week, because I can't make it next week. So I saw my surgeon yesterday, two weeks post band replacement. He was SO pleased with how I was healing, weighed me (I've officially lost 4kgs since he last saw me) and he put 4cc into my 10cc band to 'start me off'. I'm nowhere near my green zone but I'm feeling a tiny bit of restriction and you know what feels amazing? It's NOT disappearing, like it always did with my leak. I'm so hopeful for the future now. I'm not even stressing about getting back to the green zone. I didn't have much to lose to get back to my stable weight of 60kgs but I'm already at 65kgs 2 weeks out of surgery so if I don't lose anymore now, I'd be perfectly happy. As long as I don't have to struggle not to gain, I'd be happy! So regrets? No, not anymore.

From the album: Before and after full band replacement
Not quite at my stable weight (which was 60kgs) but if I don't lose anymore I don't really care. Very happy with my new band and the weight loss! -
Recently single... :-)

When I was single and a date was at a restaurant, I would order the soup or something similarly slidey, and then say I had a late lunch so wasn't very hungry. Problem solved. If you're engaging enough she won't even notice that you're not eating much! -

No it's a t-shirt from Liquor Brand. Love them, I have 2 of their t-shirts and a handbag! I'll join you on that bike, btw. Gotta get back into it! -
It's gotten cold here this week and I still am no where near restricted enough so it's 10.30am and I'm starving! I hate not having my band helping me with my hunger. Off to the canteen and praying they have healthy options. Next fill is still 2 weeks away. BOOO!
-
The band stopped my hunger when I was in the green zone. I know it doesn't work like that for every one but it works like that for me. When I have the right fill level I feel exactly like I did right after surgery - I have zero interest in eating because I nearly never feel hungry.

Like anything, anything you ingest goes towards your calories do you should consider that. But I've never refrained from drinking if I wanted to. As long as I don't get so falling down drunk that I need to vomit (and therefore potentially damage my band) I (and my dr) have no issue with it. Having a band doesn't mean you give up living. Well it didn't for me anyway.

I woke up this morning and I feel OH so much better than I have the last few days. I was starting to worry that I'd never feel ok again. This surgery was harder than the initial surgery. It hurt more. It took more out of me. Mind you, I *am* almost 5 years older than I was then. Maybe that's it, maybe it's just coz I'm an old chook now lol. I'm still on a liquid diet - full liquids, with the thickest thing I am having being yoghurt, and I'm doing it easily. I'm rarely hungry and this reminds me so much of when I was in my green zone, when I nearly never felt hungry. I have great hopes of getting there again now I have a new band in. I've also lost almost 5lbs since surgery. I'm not trying to take that loss too seriously but, if I'm honest, I'm ridiculously happy because I've been so careful with my intake and exercise the last few months and not lost a measly lb without the band. This is why I went back to get a new band, because it works for me. Next stop: the green zone. I have my first fill in a couple of weeks, and then hopefully it won't be too long until I'm back there again, and I can go back to happily living my life with my band like I did for the 3 years before the leak. Fingers crossed.

Who am I if I'm not fat?
lellow replied to Gizenhoffer's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I didn't expect to get skinny. I did it to be healthy. I wasn't someone who was really unhappy with being bigger - i thought i was beautiful, i dressed well and i had a great personality (if i do say so myself lol) so being dissatisfied with myself was never my motivation. But I did get skinny. And then I realised that what I look like on the outside doesn't change who I am on the inside. I am still big hearted and kind, funny and a little nuts, opinionated, stubborn, loyal and as much ME as I was when I was big. What changed was how people treated me an that's what I had the hardest time with getting used to. And that I can't be as 'open' with my time and affection than I used to be. But I'm still fundamentally the same person now as I was then. The advantages I gained ARE around my health but also my lifestyle. I feel like I participate more in life than I used to just because I physically can now. Don't convince yourself you don't want to lose because i feel like you're then going to fight yourself after surgery. Lose if you can, get healthier, and look for the NEW advantages of your weight loss. Because I promise you there are many. -
Some days I can eat, some days i can't
lellow replied to thoward's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Unless you recently had your surgery, nausea isn't band related but can affect the band. tmf is right, don't really know how to reply without knowing anything else. -
It's my birthday tomorrow! 43 and happier than I have been than any other time in my whole life.

It's why animals (including humans) put on weight in winter. For the insulation. When you lose, you lose your insulation. The more weight you lose, the colder you will feel. But it doesn't sort of level off, or maybe you just acclimatise after a while. Maybe after 3 or 4 years or so? Lol!

And I wasn't even drunk when I typed that....

I have to admit I read these threads and I get confused, because the band absolutely helps me with portion control. In that I feel it 'kick back' when I have had enough and if I don't stop, it will hurt, I might throw up and that's not a good thing. So I think it's a miscommunication of terms here. The band is supposed to help you feel satisfied faster, and keep you satisfied for longer, but you CAN ignore that and keep eating, and if you're restricted, it MAY hurt you if you try to keep going. You really don't want it to hurt you though, because at that point you're risking damaging the band. But I'm a slow learner. I hit that point a few times. And what great aversion therapy that was! Even now, eating my mushy scrambled eggs, I've stopped as soon as I got that first sign of the 'soft stop'. So if it works like it's supposed to, your band will eventually get to the point where you'll feel that 'soft stop' after not much food at all, and it will keep your mind off food for hours after. That's how it worked for me. But I really did have to have those 'YOU'VE EATEN TOO MUCH' kick in the guts episodes too to understand what my band was saying. BTW I think you need another fill.
-
I drink. Sometimes a lot if I'm out. I did have a time early on when I drank WAY too much and trying to vomit aggravated my band so now I'm very very careful not to get to that point again. But I have and do drink. Enough to dance in tables but not enough to need to be carried out of the building, if you know what I mean. And hangovers with the band are like hangovers without - they all suck. The difference is you probably won't be able to just eat greasy food because dehydration will make your band tight for a few days.

chicken mince I use in mushy food, but chicken isn't really mushy. And I'm 2 weeks out from band replacement. Right now the main thing you have to keep in mind is not to put pressure on your band while it's healing. You can have mushies but even though you CAN eat more, don't eat until you feel it 'kicking back'. Have half a cup, stop, and if you're still hungry in 30 mins then have another 1/2 cup. You're not trying to lose right now, you're healing. There's a fair amount of swelling around your port which is why they don't usually fill you quite so soon after your surgery. Having said that my surgeon checked the Fluid in my band when I went to see him for something unrelated just a week after surgery and he put another 0.5cc in. But that means I'm at 2cc in a 10cc band so honestly it's not even touching the sides. My next fill is in a week. THAT was supposed to be my first post-op appt and first fill date. 3 weeks post surgery.
