  1. I’m 24, 173cm, my pre-op weight was : 256lbs (116kg) Surgery weight : 113kgs (249) Month 1 : -9.7kgs (21 lbs) Month 2 : -5.5kgs (12 lbs) Month 3 : -5.7kgs (13 lbs) Month 4 : -2.3 kgs (5 lbs) Month 5 : -3.1 kgs ( 7 lbs) Month 6 : so far -4,3 kgs (9lbs) Current weight : 83 kgs It’s been 6 months and 11 days since my surgery and I’ve lost 33 kgs since my preop weight. As you can see, sometimes the loss is very minimal, but visually I’ve lost a lot of inches, I’ve had a lot of stalls, but you have to focus on something else and remember that even if the scale isn’t budging you are STILL loosing and you’re still having amazing non scale victories. I’m still 13kgs from my goal weight, but since I started lifting weights, I don’t care about that goal weight and I just want my body to be strong and lean regardless of the number on the scale. Good luck !

What to do in the gym ?

Thank you so much for your reply !! Yes it's very hard to find the right information and exactly what to do in the gym. I heard that you're supposed to do the exact same routine for a few weeks and not switch up the exercises every week to actually see results. Your workout plan is really helpful, I will look up the exercises and start with this. Thank you so much !

What to do in the gym ?

Hi guys ! I'm basically 4 months post op and lost around 58lbs (26,5kgs). I've been walking a lot, but I don't feel like it's enough. I haven't started going to the gym because I've seen so many different opinion on going to the gym and weightlifting. Dr Vuong explains that during this phase our body is in catabolism, meaning we basically breakdown our muscles and that's how we loose all this weight. He says that starting heavy exercise is counter intuitive as it will increase our appetite and work against the surgery. I'm very lost right now because I would like to start going to the gym and shape my body. I'm an absolute beginner, I have no idea what to do. Could you please let me know what worked for you in terms of exercise and everything ? Also if you have any advices on what exercise I should do ? And if I consider starting weightlifting, where to begin ? Thank you so much

    Food Before and After Photos

So it’s 2 eggs and liquid cream mixed with 2 cooked oignons in 1 tbsp of butter and 500gr salmon. And this is 1/8 of that whole thing. I’m supposed to start eating normal food. And also I take a lot of time to eat. But I only eat 1 meal a day I can’t eat more. Now I feel like I want another slice of that same size 😂

    Food Before and After Photos

This is a homemade salmon quiche and I’m able to eat this whole piece in about 1:30 something like that. I’m 4 weeks post op, is this too much ? It’s the only thing I ate today. I’m scared that this might be too much. But it goes down easily and I feel good. Help 😂

Nauseous, wanting to vomit, can’t eat

Thank you so much for the information. I’m now in week 3 and feeling better. I noticed that my diet is extremely different from everyone else. Even during the 3rd week I’m still supposed to be on liquids which is super odd and honestly I can’t even see a soup rn. I was wondering what did you eat during your 3rd week ? I wanna try to eat scrambled eggs and ground meat. I’ve seen many diets that allow it and I’m really curious to try

Nauseous, wanting to vomit, can’t eat

Well my nutritionist doesn’t put protein drinks in the diet. I guess there isn’t only one post op diet. She explained that in the first month the most important thing is to be hydrated, as I am obese my body has a lot of reserves and so it’s basically using that

Nauseous, wanting to vomit, can’t eat

No they said I had to only have sugar free things but I messed up, I wanted to taste something else as all I’ve been drinking is water. I don’t think protein shakes are essentials, they’re maybe just like an easier way to get through the liquid phase. Normally rn I’m supposed to have soups yoghurt cottage cheese, but nothing sits in my stomach.

Nauseous, wanting to vomit, can’t eat

I’m not drinking any shakes. My dietitian never gave me any. Also, I think I made a mistake, I was looking for flavored water and I just picked one ( in my country there’s not a lot of choice ) and I don’t think it’s a sugar free one. I drank a few bottles, how bad did I mess up????? How bad is it to have sugar 2 weeks post op ?? I feel so guilty

Nauseous, wanting to vomit, can’t eat

My medical team told me the same thing, that the most important is to stay hydrated. I’m not in the US and Protein shakes aren’t in my regimen only broths right now but even that made me sick. Thank you for all your answers and I hope this will get resolved shortly
  14. Hi guys! I hope someone will answer me. I’m 1 week post op and I can’t eat or drink anything except water. Anything I do I wanna vomit and I get extremely nauseous. I did vomit once. I’m supposed to start phase 2 sunday but I’m scared and I’m also tired of only drinking water. Everyone is eating around me and I’m very frustrated rn. Please help

    Sipping Water

Hi everyone ! I just had my surgery on July 2nd so today I’m 3 days post op. I have a lot of trouble drinking my liquids. I sip slowly and wait to drink a second sip but it always gets stuck in my chest/throat and it hurts. Also I feel super full after 2 sips, even with Water. It’s my first day out of the hospital and I’m supposed to drink 1.5l of Fluid but it seems impossible. What can I do???
