    Port site infection

Thanks to all. I talked with my Dr. today and after explaining what I was feeling he said it was normal and would go away. I'm hoping he is correct and I've actually felt better since I talked with him (oh, the power of the mind!).

    Port site infection

Thanks so much for the encouragement. I'm still happy I had the surgery and expect all will be well. By the way, is your port at the incision point like Sades'? My is about an inch or so above the incision.

    Port site infection

Novbeginning, It's not hot and I have no fever. Strange. But the pain doesn't go away and seems to be getting a bit worse. I plan to call my dr. in the morning. Thanks

    Port site infection

Sades, Thanks. The incision actually looks fine and the pain isn't actually at that spot. It's an inch or so over. Is your port under your incision or beside it?

    Port site infection

Hi, I was banded on July 30, 2008 (5 days ago). The port incision site was the most uncomfortable after surgery and while the others are healing nicely, the port incision area still stings a lot like it did on day one. The tape hasn't fallen off yet so I can't really say if it looks infected but it's sore to the touch and keeps me from sleeping. Is this normal at this stage or does it sound like an infection? I appreciate any responses!! :confused2: Thanks!! Frankie
