  1. I have noticed the same thing. I’m about 6 months out from my sleeve op and can eat about half of what I previously could (which to be fair was a lot!) My weight loss has stalled and I know it’s because of the type and amount of food I eat. I saw my doctor recently and they recommended getting back to basics and focusing on Protein and Water intake to get back on track. They didn’t seem concerned about the pouch stretching. Good luck with your continued weight loss!

  2. I had the same issue. It hurt (like being stabbed) if I bent over and I felt a a painful pulling sensation inside if I lay on either side for spell. I spoke to my surgeon at my 4 week check and he said it wasn’t uncommon to feel pain at the incision sites especially the two at the front and to give it time. I am now almost 2 months post op (22 Feb) and the pain is gone. Hope it eases for you soon.

This biggest challenge in the post-op process hit me this week. Work was so busy with presentations, I didn't have time to follow my nutrition schedule. Barely ended each day with my Protein Shakes, only one meal instead of two, and no where near my Water goal.

A couple of times felt so overwhelmed, knowing that I was not taking care of my needs.

I’m not back at work yet but this is something that I’m afraid of too. Before surgery I would often skip meals because of jumping from one meeting to another. I’m hoping that meal planning and having plenty of ready to eat/drink options will help

  4. Hey BigAndTall, glad to hear that your surgery went well. Mine was also 22nd and I came home from hospital yesterday. I’m doing ok with Water but the food/vitamins/meds regime is a bit challenging. It seems like I need to be constantly sipping on Protein Shakes or water. And fit the liquid meds in too. I’ve written a schedule for it so hopefully that will help. I have some pain around my incisions but it’s getting easier every day

Agree with DebbieDoo on this. Previously, I had colon cancer and ended up developing ileus (bowel not working). I wasn't walking as much as I should have been. The treatment when I was hospitalized was very painful. After the sleeve, this was a big fear for me and I was walking laps every time I got the chance. When I go to refill my Water I walk three or four times around the house. Also, make sure to take the docusate (stool softener).

Thanks guys. Did some laps in the hospital and feeling much better now. I’m meeting the dietitian tomorrow and then going home on Saturday. Feeling much more hopeful now.
