Need Lap Band Buddy / Mentor Need Some Serious Help
curvesincali replied to sbranch's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi SB I too have fallen off and went to my dr a little over a week ago. I was so embarrased to get on the scale... to see him...to have my bp taken. Everything made me feel awful. I have not been a great mommy to my band. I want to get my fill and a serious chat with him. He took me off of food... back to liquids for 20 days and explained very clearly that I did this and need to be accountable. But he was going to be there for me each step of the way. I have stuck to it... I still have 9 days to go. We can do this... I will be right here for you....and with you as we get back on track. I was banded sept 2008... I know the feeling. I am just glad I came back... I bet you are too. -

Hi everyone, Well I have been in and out of the plateau stages. So much so... that my dr took me off of food for 20 days and I am back to liquids until the end of the month. I have lost close to 47 pounds since surg 9/05/08. But since then I have palyed with the same ten pounds or so. Casey I will take your advice... I love your menu. I need way more protein in my diet... and the fiber also. I will keep you posted Samurai's!!! Keep up the good work. -

I am heading out today to join the Wii Fit world. This week I went to my neighbors house and she had a Wii Fit party, and I had such a great workout. I played the tennis game... and I could feel my arms and legs burning and I had worked up quite a sweat. Does anyone here use it How do you like it? Let me know Curves

I have a 14cc also. I only have 4.5cc's in. I am due for a fill on the 20th of January. I hope I can get a little more restriction. I think I ate a house for the holidays.... but I walked it off. Curves

First I want to thank you for sharing your story. I am shocked this happen to you ... I was just showing my husband your photos this morning. Do the doctors know what caused the band to erode ? I have a 14cc band with 4.5cc in it. He said he liked a cushy band to avoid erosion. I wonder if you can get a larger band next time. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Stay on the LBT boards. It gets me through tough Patches. You will come out of this funk... Pick yourself up, pamper your soul and eat lots of Protein until you can get a handle on all of this. Taking the Biotin 5000mcg was a saver for me. I make sure I have lots of Protein everyday and my Vitamins. Four months out and its has stopped ALOT. -
How much did you lose 4 months out?
curvesincali replied to Yayforme's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded on Sept 5th and I am 32 pounds down. I think we are all in the same neighborhood of weight loss. Congrats on you loss so far. Curves -
Take it easy on yourself. What helps me is I keep a little diary... I also allow myself a cheat every now and then. You must get back to basics. When I feel that I am slipping ... I go back to my shakes and making sure I have 60-90grams of Protein a day. When I have enough protein in my body I don't think of the other junk. You will be fine... take one day at a time. Do not let your past define your future. Curves

What problems or issues contributed to you being overweight?
curvesincali replied to ItalianSoul's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Simply put: I thought food was my friend... it was there for me when times were good and bad. When I stopped smoking it became my BEST friend. I used it for any emotion.... now I see food as nourishment for my body and not for my soul. Curves -
Happy new year and hope 2009 will be a great year
curvesincali replied to TravelLady48's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hey girl... It's time to be fine in 09 !!! Slim is right... let it go... dust it off and keep it movin. I have not had a fill in two almost three months and still going up and down with three to four pounds. That is frustrating but I know I will never be 304 pounds again. We are in this thing together!! Curves -
How many of you still have an itchy tummy. Could I still be healing? I use Merderma on my scars and they look great now... .my only issue is this. I am 3 months out. Curves

I am joing too. I just had my EAS 42gram protien shake and ran across this thread. Thanks for sharing Curves -
I wonder if you may be too tight!! It sounds like you could be... or you are just swollen from the surgery. Stay focused on healing properly. DOn't over do it on anything. Sip your Water. Use baby spoons to eat with. take it easy. I have a 14cc band and mine came unfilled until I got my first fill in Sept with 3cc and my next one in Oct with 2.5ccs. Take a look at your post op instructions or see if the is a site on here that some other patients may have answers you are looking for. Your best bet is to call the surgeon... you have paid for it. Sorry.. I do not have a blog...but I can tell you that the surgery was the best gift I could have EVER given myself. I do not regret it one bit. Follow the instructions and drink your Water. It is VERY important to follow what he says so you avoid complications. I have not had any and keep my fingers crossed that I don't. My journey has been wonderful. In the beginning it was difficult to keep track of everything I was suppose to do... all of the appointments, dietitian, blood work... you name it I did it. After surgery I took it easy ... I was off from work for 6-8 weeks. I pampered myself !!! Nice change. I joined a local ballys for two weeks for free then the next month I joined 24 hour fitness for free... just so I could work out while I was off. When I did go back to work I started walking during my lunch break... every day or every other. Get all of your water in also. Now that I have had two fills in my 14cc band. I now need a fill. You can always tell because you are able to eat more than you could before. I am waiting for Dr, Owens to come back to get it... or go ahead and see the replacement dr. I try to keep my hunger under control with Protein Bars and shakes. Soup is good too... but watch the sodium. Yes we are very close to one another(birthdays too )... if you want I can meet you while I am off from work during the holidays. I hope this helps. Curves

I had my surgery done by Dr. Milton Owens at Chapman. I go to Rancho for my fills and I love him, his office, the staff. He is so wonderful and patient with me. He answers every question and makes me feel great after I see him. I can't wait to hear how your surgery goes

I have been so so with sweets. I can eat only a little bit but after the second or third bite it becomes too much. I also wait until something better comes along. :hurray:

My scars look great... not dark and ugly as you say. They are smooth and neat. As you well know black/ brown don't crack. There is a thread here with lots of pictures of scars in progress. Check it out and see how some others are doing. Curves
