We should be proud!

Amen to that. When I first started looking at LBT website I could not relate to anyone that well until I found my sistas on this site. We bond like nothing I have seen before on any board. We are small but mighty. -
Looking for a new band surgeon
curvesincali replied to TravelLady48's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I live in the Inland Empire and work in Los Angeles.. I have researched lots of WLS doctors and one of the best regarded is Dr.Milton Owens. Go to Coastal Center for Obesity, Gastric Bypass and Lapband Weight Loss Surgery in Los Angeles and Orange County, California. There is tons of great information on the site and the doctor has a wonderful bedside/chairside manner. Check them out... I am waiting to hear back from my insurance before I can get banded by him. I just turned in my physch. eval on Friday. Let me know how it goes. Curvesincali -

Hey paula, I " wished" my husband went to the gym with one time. Girl when we got there he jumped in on my form, how I should'nt ride the bike first, it would be better for me if I drank room temp Water so I would not drink too much, and if he were me he coulda, woulda, and shoulda another way. You would have thought he was Harvey from VH1. I had to cut him off... Fast. Curvesincali -
Hands down the best fit for my shape- smaller waist, thick thighs and lotta booty... Walmart boot cut jeans. Great fit and great price. CurvesinCali

RANT: I will be 2yrs post-op before I tell my momma!
curvesincali replied to aprilapple's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Girl I don't blame you. If my mother was still with me (passed away April1,2007) she would be the same way I would have to wait until it was over ... I mean really over ... like weeks if not months. She would just worry herself sick.... and me too. Be thankful that you have her to hear all of that "advice" -
I'm about to do this.....

Emotional Eating
curvesincali replied to southerngirl24's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Tammy~ I ain't mad at ya!!! I have to get over the fact that I DO HAVE EATING ISSUES... plan and simple. With the band it will not solve WHY I eat too much... it will just prevent me from doing it. I see the psycologist next week who by the way has the band. I will see if she can refer me to a 12 step. My sister who is a nurse suggested that too. I am proud of you for looking into it and taking a stand to complete this process with all of the tools you need to be successful. Curves -

He was really supportive !!! I could not belive it. You never know how these things are gonna go. Happy,, confused, mad, supportive, weird... I went with him to see Batman at 9am then to Breakfast... that wasall it took... I must say that he said "just wanted me to be healthy and was not concerned about the weight". How did you break it to your honey? -

Emotional Eating
curvesincali replied to southerngirl24's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I am so glad you asked this question. I am an emo eater too. MY sis ter asked that question of me. What are you going to do when you get banded? How are you going to handle THAT THING that makes you eat... or that made you smoke for 20 years before quitting that, or biting your nails when you were young? What will you turn to next????" Those were good questions that I do not have an answer to. But I need to find it... and QUICK!!! Maybe take up knitting ... it can be small and compact and keep my hands busy. Any other suggestions would be great. Curves -

You have the right idea. Men can be threaten by any change... Especially when it comes to us as us being their women. My husband is 6'1" weighs 215lbs, worksout, hard to put on a pound. So telling him this was a dooozy. Glad it went so well. Thanks for sharing. -
Whom did/will you tell?
