And I`ve been looking forward to meeting you!
-
Yes, the 3 of us had surgery all on the same day but I was the early bird & missed meeting both of them! Suzanne is from Victoria & Michelle is from Mt. Currie but it`s nice to keep in touch through the forum & email. Patricia, I would love to attend a meeting on the 16th. I`ve found the last two very interesting and it`s great to meet new people who`ve gone through the procedure & listen to everyone`s trials & tribulations. If there`s a meeting, I`ll be there! Cheers, Lyn.

Had my surgery yesterday in Vancouver, BC & feeling pretty good today. Stopped taking the pain meds and putting up with a little discomfort. Lost 13 pounds on the 2 week pre-op diet. Thank goodness I only had to drink those blah shakes for 2 weeks. Will keep you posted!

Hi Everyone! Had my surgry yesterday in Vancouver, BC & everything went well. I'm putting up with some mild discomfort but not taking any pain meds starting this morning. Feeling pretty good! Lost 13 lbs on the Medifast pre-op diet, and although not the best tasting shakes, it was endurable for the short period of time. Thanks for the support. Cheers! Lyn

Hi everyone! A quick post to tell you I had my surgery yesterday at False Creek Surgery Centre & things went really well. Haven't taken anything for pain today & should be able to put up with minor discomfort. Thanks for all the support. You guys are great!

Hi Timmers! Nice to hear from you! I've read a couple of your posts in other forums and was wondering how you're doing since your surgery. Have you had your first fill yet? I have attended the last couple of meetings with the Lions Gate Group. Wonderful group I've met so far. Too bad Wednesdays aren't good for you, maybe once your class finishes. Would love to stay in touch, maybe chat about how everything's going. Cheers, Lyn

Happy Thanksgiving to all my American bandster friends!

Doing good. Keep telling myself it's just for a little while. My surgery is still Dec. 2nd at 8am so have to be there by 7. They say I should be out of there by noon or 1 pm. I haven't met with the anesthesiologist yet, probably the day of surgery. In the meantime, I'm cleaning out my cupboards and stocking up on what I'll need for the 1st couple of weeks - non citrus juice, Soups, etc. Too bad you couldn't make it to the support group meeting to talk with people in person who've gone through it but good to hear you're doing well with those dee-licious shakes!
-
Hi Michelle. I'm on the shakes too, starting today. Surgery date is Dec. 2nd. Yours? Just got home from the support group meeting. Attendance was low but met a couple of people who are having success with the band. Just listening to everyone's experiences is interesting. Let's stay in touch!

Hi everyone! December 2nd is my surgery day as I posted recently. Had consults with dietician and pschologist and starting my 2 week pre-op diet tomorrow morning. Medifast shakes & bars, yikes! 900 calories a day will be quite a challenge, but a person can do anything for 2 weeks, right? Lol. Don't think I'll need it cuz I'm pretty determined but wish me luck! Will keep you posted...

I've been reading & viewing blogs on the web. Decided to start my own as a personal diary of my journey. My Life as a Bandster

That's great advice, Doddie. I'm taking notes for when I get to this stage. But I have to say I understand why Nadia is panicking a little. She's getting no or little support or instructions from her doctor, (Dr. Leung?) and this forum seems to be the only place for her to vent. Thank goodness for you, canadagirl, and the other veterans out there who help us get through this! I hope to meet you at the next support group meeting....speaking of, is it next week? Lyn

Thanks for the pep talk, angel eyes! I'm decided on the surgery, but nice to know pre-op jitters are normal. So good to hear of your success. VancouverRN is offering tons of support too. Getting a little impatient but it's giving me time to psych myself up for the long haul ahead. Nice to know there's so many good wishers out there. Cheers, Lyn

Hi December members. My surgery date is Dec. 2nd here in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Just 17 days before my birthday...Happy Birthday to me, I figure. I start my 2 week pre-op diet around the 18th of Nov. On the low end of the BMI range with 36 but looking forward to seeing a new me. I'll be sure to check in and see how all us December members are doing. Good luck, everyone! Lyn

Looks like Dec 2nd for me, Rhonda. Still having doubts, which is normal I presume. Reading as much as I can, which unfortunaetly includes the not-so-successful stories. I'm waiting on a couple of books from Amazon and to hear when my consult date w/dietician, etc, is. Will be planning on attending next support group for sure...yikes! Lyn

Hi everyone. I have to say the same. Listening to everyone's stories (sometimes 2 or 3 at a time!) helped me to feel easier about having the procedure done. I'm awaiting word on my surgery date & will let everyone know by next meeting. Nice to know the support is there. Thanks again.

Hi everyone. I've been reading through pages of posts and soaking up all the info. Patricia, I'm already on your email list for the support group but haven't been able to attend. However, I plan on coming to the next one. Been looking into banding for the last few months & have attended info sessions of NWWLC and False Creek Surgical Ctr with Rhonda. Still a little nervous but moving ahead I think. Both clinics seem excellent but opting for the False Crk because of the aftercare. Looking forward to meeting you all on Oct 21st!
