    Post op complications Gastric bypass

I’m a little over 6 weeks post-op gastric bypass and spent most of the day yesterday in the ER. I was severely dehydrated, and I have a kidney stone. I was just starting to feel pretty good since I was able to start eating some “real” food and then this happens. I know it’s going to all be worth it in the end, but these past six weeks have been a lot harder than I expected.

    September Surgeries!

Well I’m home thank goodness. I’m having more pain than I expected but he fixed a hernia and did a liver biopsy so that may be why it’s hurting more. I’m so glad to be home. It’s a lot easier to get to the bathroom from my recliner than from that hospital bed. I haven’t noticed much gas pain, just pulling on the incisions. And I’m feeling better mentally. Being home just makes everything better.

    September Surgeries!

So my surgery was supposed to be in August but got postponed because of a spike in COVID cases. So now it’s tomorrow. And suddenly I am second guessing myself. I’ve gone too far to back out now, but I am so worried I am making a mistake. I’m self pay and I keep worrying about complications. I guess this is probably normal but I am freaking out a bit.

    Any August 2021 Bypassers?

My date is set for August 25th. Oddly, I don’t have to do a long pre-op diet. The surgeon only requires one done the day before surgery. I’m self pay so I didn’t have to jump through too many hoops. I’m nervous but so ready to change my life! I’ve lost over 100 pounds at least 5 times in the past, but it always comes back. Here’s hoping this will be the last time I have to lose it!
