Welcome to bandland!!! I became a bandster on the 21st, and although I've had virtually no pain...... I still can't get comfortable at night. I go back and forth from the recliner to the bed(LOL....at least I am getting some more walking done in the middle of the night!!!!)

Robin, Glad you are feeling better. How's your BP doing? I hope it okay. Our schnauzer hasn't left my side since I came home....it's driving me crazy because she stinks!!!!(needs bath and groom badly) LOL

Onlygo, ((((Hugs)))) It is scary to think about your doctor doing so few, however he does do it at a hospital that has a special obesity wing. So you should take comfort in that. When I went to my doctor's seminar in January she had only done 10 on her own since her training. But by the time I had mine done this week she has done over 30. I was really pleased and the team she used at the hospital is the same team she uses each time so all were familiar with the lapband surgery. It was smooth for me and I am happy so far. Is there anybody around where you live that knows any of the previous 12???? Maybe one of the 12 is a member here at LBT and can give you some feedback on their experience with this doctor. Take care and I will be thinkling of you.

Kelly, You look good. Can't wait to see more pics once you are better. You are so brave and inspiring to those of us that will follow in your steps once we have met our goal weight. Take it easy and get some rest.

Thanks for all your kind words and support!!!! :update: I have gone out Shopping/walking each day since surgery. Today mainly walking but did buy some sf Jello at walmart. You won't believe what cruel punishment I inflicted on myself Wednesday night(1 day post-op) I grilled steaks, made a nice salad & greenbeans for my Mom, Hubby and girls. Then I sat at dinner table while they ate.......:phanvan but hey I survived it!!! I even cooked again last night, but tonight Mom was gone and I let Hubby fend for the girls!!!! My stomach sure growls alot but I have been eating jello, drinking some(little bit) high protien slim fast, tea, Water, coffee. I haven't had to take the pain meds since Wednesday....so I am happy so far with the way I feel!!! Love to all Y'all here at LBT

Emily, Way to go girl!!!! It is nice when people start to notice and it does give us strength and determination. Keep up the good work. Oh yeah, doesn't the watch sliding thing put a little smile on your face:)

Yummy!!!! I will miss my diet Pibb. Still a bundle of nerves and got call from nurse today and my surgery was moved up from 12:30pm to 8:30am. So I will join bandland in the morning!!! Got to get up at 5:00am because we need to leave by 6:00am(about a 45 minute drive to the hospital) need to check in at 7. I hope to be able to update y'all tomorrow. One good thing out of all this is, my mom came to stay til friday,,,,,, and she is cleaning house and doing laundry!!:clap2: Love to all y'all!!!

Wheetsin, Nothing after midnitght per the docs Nurse. I ate dinner around six and haven't had anything else. She said 1 sip of water in the morning to take blood pressure pills. Thanks being concerned for me!((hugs))

Okay,I paid the hospital this past week and the lady asks if I have Living will,,,,,,,,yes I tell her. Then she says does anyone have medical power of attorney over me....yes, my hubby. She says make sure he brings that along........I'm thinking OMG does she expect something to go wrong. Also I was self pay, but at end she says make sure hubby brings her copy of insurance card,,,,,,,just in case. WTF just in case!!!!! Now all I can think is what if I die, who will take care of my babies. What would they bury me in(I don't have a thing to wear LOL) OMG we havent done our taxes yet and I usually do them....will hubby be able to.... BLAH BLAH BLAH...Thoughts like that. :confused: Evil woman at Hospital.........for making me think!!!! Please pray for me and my family this week! I am scared. I am really scared of getting sepsis (a blood infection you can get from surgery) My dad died of this on March 22, 2002..........so having my surgery on the 21st is kind of creeping me out. My mom is coming for the surgery, but we have decided not to tell my brother or sister about it since it is happening so close to the anniversary of Dad's death. please send prayers and positive thoughts!!!!!!

I'm right there with Stocky,,,,,,Can I start tomorrow!!!! :phanvan I will probably need to be kicked...errr reminded not to drink for an hour after eating!!!! I think this will be my hardest habit to break!!!!!!

Well today, I feel a little less scared(not) But my 4 yr old kept asking me "Is today your surgery and is daddy taking you to the hospital?" I told her no it's tomorrow. She asked this several times. Then when I took her to preschool, she started crying and kept running back to the door to kiss me and tell me she loved me. She was crying when I left her. Now I feel like....Wow should I do this.....but If I don't I could die from being overweight. God I can't wait for Wednesday morning and then it will all be over with!!!! MY nerves are killing me(makes me want to barf):confused: Sorry I keep talking about my fears, but I have no one else to talk to. I can't really talk to Hubby because he has never dealt well with me being sick or in the hospital. So I need you guys as my sounding board! Thanks and hugs to all.

I agree with Carrie, we are doing this for our future( and I am also doing it for my 2 little girls) I want to be around to see them grow up. I guess they are trying to pay for all the renovations they have been doing!!! Luckily My doc has privilages at another hosp!!! I have lived in Marshall since 1998 and I like it here, so different from Dallas(where we came from). Is your family still here???

Kristin, Where are you from in East Texas??? I live in Marshall and to have it done here it was going to cost me around $25,000, so I am using the same doctor and having it done in Gilmer for $17,500. I wish I lived closer to San Antonio because that would have saved us a bunch of money!! Oh well, my bank account today shows that both the Doc and the hospital have cashed my checks....so I've paid and am waiting for Tuesday to get here amd become a bandster!!!

How to set up your ticker: 1. Go to www.tickerfactory.com 2. Click on weight loss link 3. Select a ticker ruler you like by clicking the option button next to the one you choose and then click NEXT 4. Choose a ticker slider you like by clicking the option button next to your choice and then click NEXT 5. Configure your weight tracker by entering you info and the click NEXT 6. You will see a message on the screen that says Done! Your Ticket URL is: (and then there will be a long string of text starting with http://tickers.TickerFactory.com/..... 7. Click your mouse at the beginning of this text (starting with the h in http and drag over the entire line of text. (make sure you highlight the entire line (URL) 8. Press Ctrl+C (hold these keys down at the same time) to copy the text you have highlighted 9. Go back to www.lapbandtalk.com and click the UserCP link 10. Click the link titled Edit Signature 11. Scroll down to the text box titled edit signature and place your cursor where you want your ticker to go 12. Click the icon called insert image - this is the one that is yellow with the two little mountains and sun on it 13. A window will pop up telling you to enter the URL of the image 14. Press Ctrl+V (hold these keys down at the same time) to paste the text you copied in step 8 above into this field. 15. Click ok and you're done! Your ticker should magically appear. 16. Click save signature and you're done - you can update it as often as you want by going to user CP, click on your current ticker and press delete - then repeat these steps to re-add.
