Just make sure you have everything prepared to take the stress off when your procedure time comes! I liked having different flavors protein shakes and Gatorade zeros to mix it up. Good luck

Has anyone experienced hair loss? I’m 4 months out from ESG down 50 pounds and my hair started falling out in the last 2 weeks and it’s so depressing. I luckily have thick hair already but I can’t even run my hand through my hair without ending up with a handful of hair. I got some zinc I read that was good for hair loss and I take a hair nails and skin supplement. I’m just so sad losing this much hair is concerning. Thoughts? Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

I've never drank anything but diet soda! I can't stand the taste of regular so I'm safe from the "gateway drug" 😂 The stretching of the stomach by bubbles never made sense to me. I can see how maybe they'd fill up your stomach quicker- but stretching it? They'd have to be some pretty strong bubbles! I'll have to try diet mango Pepsi that sounds delightful. I think I came out of the womb drinking Diet Coke, but before surgery I discovered dr. pepper cream soda zero and that was outstanding.

Has anyone tried carbonated drinks? If so, when after your surgery and how did it go? I used to drink diet sodas and sparkling waters before surgery. I’m almost 4 months out and down 50 pounds. I don’t want to slip but since both are zero calorie beverages I think it’d be fine if I could drink them comfortably and still get my water in.

Did anyone else feel hungrier once they made it to the soft foods phase? I barely ate anything on liquids and puree. I'm thinking it was a mix of being so soon out from the surgery and also just being uninspired by the lack of what I was able to eat. Now that I'm on soft foods, I feel like I'm hungrier and I actually like the food I get to eat now because I have a lot more choices. I'm sticking to all the prescribed amounts, but I have an underlying fear that I'm eating too much or too frequently and I'm going to stretch the pouch. Has anyone been told what it feels like when the pouch stretches? Is this something that you are able to feel? I've never felt nauseated or sick after eating so I'd assume that means I'm in the clear, but I want to stay hyper vigilant. I suppose it is also just a kind of shocking transition from going from puree where I really only had protein shakes, yogurt, and mashed potato to entering the soft food phase where I can make more "meal" type things with real meat and veggies.

I had my endoscopic sleeve on 5/25. The only pain I felt was the day of and day after surgery. I felt literally no pain the next two weeks on liquids. I was switched to purée after the 2 weeks and my stomach has pain. It’s mostly when I move in certain ways but it was a little scary since I had felt great the first 2 weeks. Has anyone experienced this? I went back to liquids just in case my body was in shock from the switch to more solid foods but it hasn’t changed. Thoughts/advice? I’m new to the forum as well, it’s nice to “meet” you all and have a community of those going through the same thing.
