Just because your doctor says to move on to soft food doesn’t mean you have to. Don’t go above the dr recommend diet but if you need to back up to liquids and eggs then do that. Try other foods again in a week. It’s really important to get your fluids protein and other vitamins. It could count for why you’re feeling so bad cause you’re not getting the proper nutrition cause you can’t tolerate the soft foods yet. just back up a step. Eat whatever makes you feel comfortable as long as it’s within your diet. The biggest problem I have had is speed. You really have to eat slowly. I usually eat while web surfing cause I need both my hands so it makes me wait several minutes between bites. Also chew chew chew chew. Savor the flavor and enjoy it because we all know we can’t have too much of it before our tummy’s yell STOP! -

Since my surgery I’ve felt good. No nausea or pains. But the last couple days anytime. I even think about eating I feel sick. If I try to eat it’s hard to swallow because I feel like throwing up. Anything I have managed to eat/drink feels like lead in my stomach. Anyone else experienced this?

What an awesome thread. Mine is easy. I’m in a wheelchair and before my lap was occupied by my stomach. Now I have lots of free space and more every day. I can put a shopping basket on my lap without holding onto it and my little doggo can ride on my lap instead of carrying him. It’s an amazing feeling to see these non scale victories. To an outside viewer they might not seem huge but to us who both have them and get to read each others is a sense of pride and accomplishment that we get to feel for ourselves and each other. We’re all in this together like a family -

I just started this. I started at 8xl shirts now I’m buying 5xl. It really does something great for your motivation and self esteem to buy those smaller sizes -
Hayden started following Puréed, I am so ready
-
Congratulations:D. Glad you’re doing well
-
Good luck and hugs. Congratulations on your new life

It wasn’t anything special. I took hillshire farm reduced sodium honey ham from the sliced meats section and ground it up in the blender. I also added some sugar free bread and butter pickles and light miracle whip and let the blender turn it into paste hope that helps

So I grabbed my first container of puréed ham salad and color me surprised I could only eat half the two ounce cup. I was eating whole Greek yogurts and 4oz of soup. Texture really does make a difference.

Thank you that’s so sweet

As you can see from my post a few days ago I was struggling. It’s going much better. I don’t feel like I ruined my life anymore. Maybe cause I’m about to move to purée. As you get to enjoy more foods you tend to feel better. I hope your struggles are all head based like mine. Head hunger can be so hard. If you’re having physical pain or complications I’m so sorry you’re hurting. But know that it will get better. Don’t give up on yourself. You’re stronger than your head let’s you think.

I just finished my purée prep. I can’t wait till Tuesday. I have been longing for some real flavors for what seems like forever. Pictured I have ham, egg, seafood, and tuna salad all ready in 2oz containers. I have to make the chicken still but I got breasts to make fresh to cut down on sodium. I’m so excited lol. what was the food you couldn’t wait to purée and taste after your liquid stage.

Good luck to you tomorrow and congratulations on your new healthy life

I’m so sorry your having problems with your preop weight loss. It can be frustrating when taking this huge step forward in your health journey. i don’t know what surgery you’re going to have but with bypass not only does it restrict but your body doesn’t absorb all of the calories you take in. So that also helps. I don’t know much about the sleeve cause I knew I wanted the bypass from day one. also please don’t be worried about the future. With your surgery if you follow the guidelines set by your surgeon and nutritionist then you are going to see results more than 10lbs. Keep a positive attitude and the faith. Also give yourself a hug and pat on the back for coming this far and taking charge for a healthier life.
-
After surgery you won’t be feeling hungry. And as long as you get your protein and fluids you will feel good. For now just think about how much your life will change for the better and all those new clothes you will get to buy.
