Worried, not losing 1 week post op
Aliana Wood replied to TaraFinely's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Can we focus on the original topic at hand which is the weight loss stall? I feel like some people are getting a bit off topic (talking about looking "gaunt") and taking the thread in a different direction than intended. -
Surgery was aborted.
Aliana Wood replied to Darkerthanblack1964's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
So sorry this happened to you. If I were in your position, I would be feeling the exact same way. Your feelings are absolutely valid. I know it's easy for people who have already had the surgery to say "Just keep trying." Those words sound good, but when you just had your dream crushed, they are very little consolation at all. I can't imagine being in your position. I honestly would feel like giving up as well because for me, this surgery was such a light at the end of the tunnel. I felt like it was my absolute last hope. All I can say is I'm so sorry this happened to you and you have the right to be devastated for a while. -
Hello. I have had the Gastric Sleeve surgery. I am currently taking Bariatric Advantage "Advanced Multi EA Chewable" vitamins and I hate them. My doctor told me specifically to stay about from "Capsule" vitamins for a specified amount of time after surgery and to also stay away from "Gummy" vitamins too. Anyway, now I see that Bariatric Advantage also has a "Chewy Bite" form of the vitamin. I am wondering if this form of vitamin is okay to take for Gastric Sleeve patients? Do any other Gastric Sleeve people take the "Chewy Bite" form of the vitamin?? I really want and need to stick to my vitamin regiment, but this "Chewable" by Bariatric Advantage is just very large and very nasty to me and is making it hard to stick with it.

Vitamin Question (Chewy Bites)
Aliana Wood replied to Aliana Wood's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know they do have Calcium Chew Bites, but I'm talking specifically about the Multivitamin. They have that in Chewy Bite form too. But, if you have been taking Chewy Bites form of vitamins since you got home from the hospital, then I assume it's okay for me to do. lol. Did your doctor also warn you off staying away from capsules or gummys? -
Surgery Day June 3, 2021

Congrats on getting it done. -
Don't beat yourself up too much if you slip up once or twice during the pre-op diet. Surgeons know that this will probably happen and they will not cancel your surgery over 1 or 2 slip ups. The whole point of it is to shrink the liver (if indeed you are on the liver shrinking diet pre-op). Your liver is going to still shrink a great deal even if you mess up once or twice in the course of 2 weeks.

No more body hair?
Aliana Wood replied to HealthyLifeStyle's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't think it's all that crazy. They talked to us a lot about hair loss before surgery. Granted, they were mostly talking about the hair on your head. But, if it's possible to suffer hair loss of the hair on your head after surgery, it stands to reason that the hair in other places on the body might also fall out a bit too. -
Extremely strict post op diet
Aliana Wood replied to SethSnap's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That sounds very extreme to me. You must have one of those doctors who is just extremely cautious. It really seems that the "stages" you go through after the surgery and when you go through them seem to be incredibly individualized. I have seen people who were started on soft foods like 3 days after surgery and it was fine. Then I have seen people who couldn't have soft foods until after like 3 weeks. I don't think any one way of doing it is the be all and end all. I have to be honest, I don't think I could do the stages your surgeon has given you. I probably would have cheated along the way. lol.
