    Hi from Colorado!

Wow! That kinda sucks! Does it make your recovery time any longer than normal? Yeah you are talking to me on OH as well. I noticed that when you wrote to me this last time. HAHA!! :biggrin2:

    Hi from Colorado!

Thanks Long2BThin! How common are hernias? I have heard of others needing to have them repaired and either getting them then and there or having to schedule surgery at a later date.

I lost something very important today

I am VERY sorry for your loss! I myself have 2 chihuahuas and they mean the WORLD to me! I will keep you in my thoughts.

    Hi from Colorado!

CDroppindown ~ Congrats on the weight loss! That is fantastic!! I have chosen Dr. Kirshenbaum at Lap Band of the Rockies. How was your recovery time? I am thinking of taking 2 weeks from work, but only have 40 hours of vacation, so may have to take 40 hours of unpaid time off (if my job lets me that is). KayleighsMommy ~ I am also from Aurora. How are you feeling? Was it painful? How much time did you take off from work (if you work that is)? I had knee surgery last year (laparoscopic as well) to clean up torn cartilage and remove excess bone. I had to take Percocet because it hurt so badly. I am a little afraid of the pain. I am also looking forward to getting this surgery though because I am sick of playing the weight game. I know that even with the band I will still have to play the game, but at least I will have something working WITH me instead of against me.
  6. Brandy ~ I agree that is a STEAL! Thanks again for all the info, I really do apprecaite it!
  7. Brandy ~ Thanks for the info, I greatly appreciate it! I think I will start the process then, so I have loan in place and ready to go. So is it really just $9950 or is there tax or something? As far as physical and blood work, I had all that done a few months ago, so I think that should be good. Mini ~ Congrats on the band! I hope you heal quickly and are pain free!
  8. My name is Nicole and I was referred her by Dee from the OH webpage. I haven't had my one on one with Dr. K yet, but it is scheduled for July 29th. I have a few questions about everything: 1. Is it better to have your loan and everything ready to go before the consultation or should I wait? 2. What happens after the consultation and how long do the next stages take? 3. What tests does he require before he will consider you for surgery? Sorry to ask so many questions, I am just too damn excited for my consultation that I feel like I can do SOMETHING until then! :biggrin2: Thanks for your help!

Help! Self Pay: To Mexico or not

Beans2005 - I am going to do self pay as well and found a doctor here in Colorado that includes everything (including post-op care for 3 months) for only $9950. I don't know how much it would help you since you don't live in CO, but his fills are also only $15 after the 3 month post-op time period. I haven't had the surgery yet, but people on here that have with him have done really well. At the same time I have heard of many Mexican doctors that do an incredible job and are very experienced! Just because they are in Mexico doesn't mean they are "bad". I say do what feels right to you! If you want more info on the doc in Colorado his name is Dr. Gerald Kirshenbaum and the website is www.lapbandrockies.com Good luck!
