  1. I could, too! Love that my mom used to say she was going to put a lock on the refrigerator! How sweet is she?

  3. Well, my mom used to tell me to "suck it in" when we were in public. She also said she was going to put a lock on the refrigerator. That's true mother's love right there. I was told that I might be pretty if I wasn't so fat by a kid in high school. When my first daughter was a year old, one of the ladies I worked with said, "are you pregnant again, or are you just fat?" Nice.

    Band Slipped, HELP!

Ok, wait… the band is STILL slipped after 4 months unfilled? If that's the case, then yes… I'm pretty sure you're going to either need a reposition or revision, or even to be unbanded. You'll have to talk to your surgeon about your options, but if the slip has not resolved after 4 months of being completely unfilled, your surgeon is going to have to do something.

    July Butterflies Master Thread

Hello, July 2008 Bandsters! Just wondering how everyone is doing? I ended up going from 265lbs to 155lbs! I felt great, and loved it! I did get pregnant and had my son Nov. 2011. I had to have a complete unfill during my pregnancy, resulting in my now 230lbs. I was just able to go get a fill (no more tricare, so now I pay for them), and I'm looking forward to loosing the weight again! The tech who did the flouro (done at every fill) says there is a kink in the tubing of my band. That resulted in her being unable to retrieve fluid. We were worried it had a leak, but when she shifted some things around, she accessed the fluid. The kink is still there, however. I'm hoping this doesn't result in other problems. It probably happened during my pregnancy when everything got shifted around! How are all of you? Great results? Complications? Frustrations??

    New addictions?

Shopping. Although, I loved to shop before I was banded, too. Just not to this extent, lol.

Gentlemen... Please advise me! Re: Cheating

I don't believe in the "Once a Cheater..." Junk. I do believe people can make and the regret mistakes. I believe they can choose to change, and make their spouse, marriage and family their priority again. However, I also think you will know... You know if your husband is putting you and your needs and feelings first. You know if your husband is doing everything you need him to do in order to help you heal, and rebuild your marriage. You know if your husband has recommitted himself to your relationship. Has he? What has he done to help you through his infidelity? To help you heal from the pain he has caused you? If he has not done any of these things, then it's time to knock him off the fence he's riding and force him to make a choice... Don't sacrifice your happiness.

Is It True What They Say???

Something is wrong, not sure what yet.

I had similar complications with my band when I was pregnant with my son. I ended up having to have it unfilled completely. I was afraid with the vomiting if risk a slip. I gained almost all of my weight back, and I just got a fill Friday to start getting it back off again. If I were in your shoes, I'd make an appt with your surgeon as soon as you can!

Has anyone had a SMALL leak?

I went to my doctor's office on Friday, and they thought I may have a leak because she was unable to retrieve fluid from my band. My doctor's office does flouro for every fill, so the tech looked around, injected saline and checked everywhere. She said she didn't see a leak, but it could be a very slow leak. Then, she checked all of the tubing and saw what she thinks is a "kink" in the tubing. The kink was causing the liquid to not come out. So, she kind of shifted the tubing around as best she could, then she was able to get fluid out. She gave me a 1.77cc fill, and I do have more restriction. I'm keeping an eye on it, though. If I loose restriction I'll be heading to the office ASAP!

    Stomach Irritation or Slippage??

It IS getting better today, and I am glad! I actually moved to another area since my surgery, but I haven't had to get a fill in over a year, so I didn't change surgeons. I called a surgeon, really THE surgeon, in the area, and they won't see me!! They need all my history from my previous surgeon, plus a barium test, whatever it's called. Even when they get all that, they have a meeting of the Doctors and Nurses in the practice, and decide collectively if they will take my case on. Ugh! What if I actually had a REALLY BAD problem? SO, I called MY surgeon, and they said it sounds like irritation. Told me to stay on warm, Clear Liquids for the next 2 days, then I'm going in at 9am Friday morning (I live 2 1/2 hours away, and I have training for work the next 2 days). She said it could get better by then, and I may NOT need an unfill, but I want to go ahead and get a little out anyway. Thanks!

    Stomach Irritation or Slippage??

Bumping... wanting some input. I have been able to keep sips of water down, but it still feels very tight and uncomfortable. FEELS like it wants to come up, but isn't actually coming up. PBing a bit, though. I am desperately hoping I just need an unfill!!! Thanks!
