Looking For A Lap Band Fill Doctor In Toledo, Ohio
chabutter posted a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I will be having my 5 year lap band anniversary Next Month. I do still experience tightness during times of dehydration I have regained 20 pounds primarily due to developing a love for sweets. Smooth things go down far too easily... if its not meat or bread or something incredibly dry the lap band goes unnoticed. I am currently very interested in getting a new fill its been about 4 1/2 years -
hi guys, I was wondering how everyone takes their pills now that they are banded? i take between 0-4 pills a day some of them seem large. Are all medications available in liquid form? Anyone take liquid Advil (Napraxen) Liquid Vicadin for pain (yuck) or any other commonly prescribed pain medication like tramadol, or something? how do you know if a medication is crushable or not? Thanks Guys :clap2: :clap2: :clap2:

Today I went to see the psych doctor Doctor Taliaferro) to see what the hell the problem was. It has been TWENTY days since I saw him for my psych evaluation.. thats twenty days too long, and twenty days delaying my potential lap band surgery over a fucking psych evaluation. The office claimed to have sent the information on thursday but the weight management center called me today, saying the had not received it. Extremely annoyed, I discovered that he wasnt even in the office so I couldnt even retreive it with my own hands to hand -deliver it (which is a HUGE trip in itself)... -
Hey everyone! I was wondering if anyone found it difficult to take their daily medication (pills) with the band? :second: If anyone takes glucophage for diabetes -- do you find it difficult to get the pills to pass through? Has anyone tried xenical/orlistat? (fat blockers) My doctor just prescribed it to me by request (I am not banded yet). Would xenical react poorly with the band? Thanks everyone for your imput!:nervous

Before and After Lap Band Surgery - PICTURES ONLY
chabutter replied to DeLarla's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
me in pink at 255 on august 10th 2006 me at 190, august 2007 (surgery day was sept 5th, 06) hey all, i got that "youve been gone too long email" from lapbandtalk. and although im not to my final weight right now, i thought id share that i went from 255 above, to 190. I only have one fill, but the first 30lbs of weight loss really took the pressure off of my ankles and allowed me to move again (I have rheumatoid arthritis).. i went from a size 20 to a size 14, and i can shop and etc for a long time. i am thinking about getting a third fill (have a 4cc filled to 2.0 or 2.5 - yes doc was very aggressive) so that i can have assistance to the last resistant 25 lbs. I only feel resistance when im very dehydrated, but some times i can still eat 3 pieces of pizza, and anything i want. which is bad. i would say that happens most times. -
hi guys, I am just now adjusting to my second fill. I really am having a hard time with learning to chew my darn food. It seems like Im getting that burning uncomfortable feeling with EVERY MEAL. i dont know if that means im too tight, because it eventually does pass through - but then if thats the case, what is FULL? example.. it seems like if i do chew things up, i can eat as much as i want because its going through... if i dont chew things well, then i get the burning action and feel like i should stop eating. this is so bizarre. I dont think ive ever felt my top pouch feel full, but i do get that that golf ball! I can still eat WAY too much.. however, still am capable of getting golf balls.. BIZARRE last night, i was starving and decided to eat a piece of deli turkey, it got stuck, and i kept spitting and spitting and spitting, and it was so uncomfortable. this was lasting for an hour. I had to make myself PB.. it doesnt happen naturally for me, i can just be uncomfortable for hours. so then, i kinda gagged and got a bit of froth to come up, still it doesnt go down. so then... i drank some Water and it finally went down.. whew, so then later.. my esophogas felt soo swollen. i mean aggitated. im really trying to figure out.. what is NORMAL. does the band work like this: you have to chew chew chew so you dont get pain, and then you just tired of chewing and stop eating because eating is not pleasurable? or does it work like this: you chew well, and eventually get a full feeling and then stop no golfballs.

What is your current fill in your 4cc band?
chabutter replied to Paulax's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I had my second fill today, i wish i would have asked how much he put in there the first fill was 1.9, so if I were to guess maybe he gave me 2.5 or 2.75 -
Hi, I have only lost 26 pounds in five months :-( I have got a 1.9cc fill as my first fill. I am exercising, but just cannot seem to control my intake. a typical day: Big grilled chicken salad two pieces of pizza 3 yogurts poptarts, grits fruit (1600 calories)

ugh, the taste of my many crushed pills make me yack

you guys are so awesome for the tips, I will try to increase my protein count and stop eating so much and start thinking sensibly. I just realized, I CANT COOK! I also scheduled myself for a fill after reading your responses.

jachut, I wish I could say that it was easy to have this self control that you speak of. People wouldnt be here if they had this self control you speak of. I understand that self control is the goal for the long run, but I dont expect many bandsters to be able to have self control for the first year or two that they have the band. If staying away from pizzas and bigmacs were that easy, none of us would have the band in the first place. weight watchers and adkins told me to stay away from pizza.. shit, that didnt work :-P its not possible. I lose 2-5 pounds a month with the band because I am trying, and the band is helping but I have not come anywhere close to revolutionizing my diet. I have not been able to stay away from pizza and big macs. To be truthful I cave in about a few times a week. Im not as tight as I need to be, but I know in my heart that this is a long fight, I was born with the compulsive eating disorder, and I will die with it. The fight is just to not let it kill me i would be skinny by now if i ate salads and grilled chicken with no Compusive impulses plauging me

i also force myself to eat one salad a day, when you guys say fruits and vegetables I am so disappointed that Iw ill have to choke down TWO salads a day. what do you do for variation?
-
Thanks guys, I know my eating habits are horrible, and I think the first step is to admit it. I just have felt this thing was so useless. I have been exercising for 30 minutes a day, and I use to be able to eat a whole box of cookies, or cereal (along with a half gallon milk) in one sitting. I am having a really difficult time staying away from temptation. Oh its awful, I need some ideas for what I can eat, that will satisfied these binge eating cycles of mine

Hey I was diagonosed with PCOS when I was 12 years old. I am 21 now, and went off of it at 18 when I lost 60 pounds in college) Since I have gotten rheumatism I have gained this weight back. Without metformin, I will not loose a pound. My blood sugar with it is positively normal, its my horomones that arent! If I take it, the one stupid hair that grows on my chinnychinchin doesnt grow. yay! also, if you get under a 30 BMI you dont really need it anymore
-
first fill free, others one hundred dollars a piece. It depends on your quality. Some doctors dont fill under fluro... my doc allowed me to see what was happening. I also got filled by my actual surgeon, not a nurse.

has anyone had any experience dealing with medical mutual, or medical mutual super med plus?

It sounds like that person, is acknowledging your weight loss but still wanted to take you down a bit. If they werent being malicious; its possible that they dont know shit about size and frame and pounds. dont sweat it

What is my Malfunction! I'm not losing!
chabutter replied to BeacheeGirl's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
your not eating enough and your exericising TOO MUCH for your size. -
I am a scale-addict as well. I weight about one- three times a day. It can put me in a bad mood. I know when NOT to weigh and sometimes i do anyway. (like after I eat a bigmeal, drink a buncha water, or if I KNOW I am bloated).. then i getpissed and eat junk. However, it does seem to keep me in check at times. I see that If i have lost a pound I want to do ANYTHING to lose another, and another. its a win/lose.
