I had the same symptoms your mother is having. I had them for 4 months and decided to go to the doctor and it turned out that my esophagus has expanded and formed a small stomache and this caused my not to digest my food and at nights I always had reflux, coughing, nearly shoking and throwing up. The doctor opened my band and put me on liquid diet for 15 days and this coming Thursday I will see if my esophagus is back to its normal size and begin the band adjustment again. This happens for eating more than you should and forcing food that we know can't be eaten.

You need to have more heavy liquids and it will help. Have a cream of broccoli soup with half water and half skim milk, have a shake with skim milk, drink liquids constantly and lots of water. Hi there...I think we had the lapband on the same day, obviously different places. Believe me I know what you mean with this pain. I have called my doctor two days in a row because of this pain and he says it is very normal and it is not going to go away completely. I have learned that if you sit for long periods it bothers more when you get up, by try and lay down and relax and I am sure you will feel better. Today I showered and have on normal clothing and I feel a lettle less pain, but when I get up I have a little hunchback, but I immediately try and straighten myself. I have not lost an ounce, that is for sure... Good Luck...

Hello, My name is Tammy and I had LapBand surgery 3 days ago. I feel this has been the best decision I've made. I do have pain on my right side where the port is, but I hope it goes away soon. I am now on liquids and then on soft foods and then after 4 weeks I will have the first band adjustment. Please let me know if this pain is normal and what foods do you suggest I can eat during this time?
