Newly sleeved 4/28. Q’s for water
FutureSylph replied to Tashrenee's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
What worked for me was experimenting with various temperatures of water/clear liquids. Usually I found cold-but-not-icy water suited me best, and when my pouch grew tired of that, I concentrated more on warm herbal tea. Good luck finding your new normals! -

Food Before and After Photos

Usually, yes -- but today I went and got only the items on my list. 😮 (It helped that the store was mobbed, so I couldn't do my usual browsing.) -
Post-op tips/necessities
FutureSylph replied to IWant ToDelete MyProfile's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I found lemon ginger tea to be very comforting in the week or so after coming home. It also made a tasty chaser for the nasty liquid meds. -

Many people say it gets easier on the third day. Hope that holds true for you! -
Coping with grief after WLS
FutureSylph replied to Starwarsandcupcakes's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If the funeral hasn't yet taken place (or even if it has), a sweet gift for the grieving family is a basket of a dozen white cotton handkerchiefs, which you have starched and ironed to snowy perfection. So much nicer than tissues. -

How much calcium??
FutureSylph replied to SleeveToBypass2023's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
My clinic doesn't have specific fiber recommendations. For calcium citrate, it's 1200-1500 mg per day, split into 2 or three doses, at least 2-3 hours apart, separate from multivitamins. Hope this helps. -
I've been eating these once or twice a week, too -- or plain water-packed tuna with a squirt of lemon juice. (I dislike fish packed in oil.)

I'm not sexually active, but it seems to me that position would be more important than timing.

Alcohol 3 weeks post sleeve op.
FutureSylph replied to Donna zariya's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I'd stick to a Virgin Mary. Looks and tastes like a Bloody Mary, with none of the transfer addiction/dumping/hangover risks. But of course, you do you. -
Outstanding! That's a fabulous accomplishment, and I'm so happy for you.

Have you tried Torani or Da Vinci sugar-free syrups? They come in a lot of yummy flavors. -

Best of luck! Yeah, the first month post-op can be really difficult, but it's so worth it. -
Just ordered my shakes
FutureSylph replied to SleeveToBypass2023's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
It does to me. And may I add, you're already looking much slimmer in the wallet. ;-D -
3 weeks post op and struggling with nausea
FutureSylph replied to Szietsma's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Also, how small and how far apart are your sips? Try experimenting and see if that gives any relief. And sugar-free popsicles are a great way to make sure you're not accidentally swallowing too much at once. Hope you're feeling much better soon! -
Surgery on Wednesday. Scared, 2nd thoughts
FutureSylph replied to dance4thedj's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Freaking out a bit? Entirely normal. It's a big decision, and only you can make it for yourself. Do consider, though, that most people who regret having WLS shortly after the surgery are singing a much different tune a few weeks later as their bodies adjust and the weight comes off. Good luck! -
Weight loss starts when?
FutureSylph replied to linzcarr's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
LOL! And sometimes that feeling sticks around for several weeks (almost six so far, in my case). -
