Any April 2021 surgeries?!
Gettin’-My-Skinny-On replied to KidaandRoux's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am trying to learn how to respond to these posts... it’s new to me. I am now almost 5 weeks post Gastric Sleeve surgery. My surgery date was April 12, 2021. I began my journey to surgery with the first doctor visit, then an endoscopy in February. He found 1 esophageal hernia above the stomach which he planned to repair during the surgery. I started the maintenance diet on February 26, I weighed 242 pounds. 2 weeks before surgery I had to begin the liquid diet. Between February 26 and April 12, I lost 15 pounds. During my surgery he found I had a Hiatl hernia right on top of my belly button so he fixed that too. Today, I weighed in at a whopping 200 pounds even on the scale. I have lost a total of 42 pounds since February 26 and 27 of it since my surgery. BEST DECISION I EVER MADE. -
Protein taste issues
Gettin’-My-Skinny-On replied to TravelKat's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I was able to drink Protein2o Protein Water just fine before the surgery, but after surgery it is too sweet. I have to mix it half and half with water. I don’t have a problem with the taste of the Premier Protein shakes but I am bored with them. I bought a flavorless protein powder that gives me 30 grams of protein with each scoop. Isopure from GNC. It mixes with anything water, juice, gatorade zero, I also mix it in my Oikos Zero yogurts. It does better mixed with cold liquids. Don’t mix with hot soup or coffee. It kind of solidifies instead of dissolves. -
Any April 2021 surgeries?!

I feel full after 2 ounces and it doesn’t matter what I am eating. I am having issues with eating eggs though. Which I never had a problem before. Chicken hasn’t been a problem but with my doctor, I am still on the puréed or soft food diet. I can have regular food for another couple weeks. But, I also had a hernia in my esophagus above my stomach close to my sternum that be repaired as well as a hernia above my belly button. So I’m not in a huge rush to eat solid foods just yet. I get most of my nutrition from protein drinks. -

Lying about not getting surgery is awful
Gettin’-My-Skinny-On replied to GinormousReislin's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I don’t tell everyone I have had surgery. I’m not lying to anyone. I’m just not telling them. It’s no one’s business but mine. I have told people that I know who have had the surgery. But in all honesty, lost almost 20 pounds in 2 months before the surgery just following the bariatric nutrition protocol my doctor prescribed to me. So if I can lose weight just doing that then others can too. I had the surgery because I needed my body to hold me accountable. The surgery is a necessary tool to keep me focused on NOT eating too much and to keep me from binge eating junk food. My sleeve is keeping me on track and focused. Not telling everybody because it is nobody’s business. -
Has anyone tried Premier Protein Oatmeal shakes?
Gettin’-My-Skinny-On replied to NiceAnkles's topic in Food and Nutrition
I have wanted to but my doctor said to steer clear of anything with oatmeal in it right now. I am 4 weeks post surgery (April 12). I can try it when I am at 6 weeks.
