Mini gastric bypass is similar to RNY except that it has 1 joining (anastomosis) instead of 2 with the RNY bypass. Surgery and recovery are a bit quicker as a result. It has pretty similar results, although RNY is still considered the gold standard. Hey wow, your surgery is getting super close now!! Scheduled for 31 May, revision from band (placed in 2004) to mini gastric bypass. Started my pre-op diet this morning. It's going to be a rough two weeks, but I am ready!!
