Getting very nervous and anxious
Vanessa Kiro posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Guys! I need words of encouragement please. My surgery is next week and my anxiety is off the charts. I’m doing great on the preop diet( my doctor said 2 weeks protein shakes and clear sugar free liquids only? I’m not really nervous about the surgery. I’m nervous about life after, gas pains, and not being able to keep food down. Anyone who is post op, please share your experience. Thank you -
Husband refuses to drop me off or pick me up from the hospital. Now what?
Vanessa Kiro replied to DoodlesMom's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I’m sorry you’re going through this. I’d recommend you take an Uber to the hospital and ask a neighbor or coworker to pick you up from. That way you only ask them for one service and they are more likely to say yes -
August child. I’m getting nervous. Has anyone started their liquid diet yet? I’m schedule for 8/27 and my preop diet starts 8/13.

Yes. I have Cigna. If your BMI is over 40, they don’t require much. Honestly the hospital I chose had more requirements than Cigna. If I knew that I would’ve gone somewhere else. But Cigna is actually impressive. Approved in 5 days. Nurse from Cigna called me the next to be like my advocate during the process. Just make sure whatever hospital you chose submits everything to them when they request approval

It’s the pineapple skin. You boil that and drink that water. It’s a quick fix. Not a solution.

When did you start losing hair?
Vanessa Kiro replied to ChloeSleeved's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
It really depends on generics. Nothing else. My sister did not lose any hair. Her friend who went the same day as her, is now rocking a buzz cut. -
Lifting weights. Collagen. And skin care. Doesn’t mean you won’t have lose skin. Helps reduce the amount of lose skin. This is coming from someone who started very heavy (320).

I’m sorry sure about affordable but self pay at inova Bariatric sis 16 thousand. Most insurances in Virginia cover inova Bariatrics. If your insurance doesn’t cover Bariatric, Hopefully you can get all the preop stuff done/payed by insurance and you just pay for the surgery.

Hello. I have Cigna open access. I have done nothing. Can some one please share their process from beginning to surgery date. I have no idea where to start or what to do. All I know is I’m doing it in America and my insurance says I’m covered as long as I meet deductible My BMI is above 42. Thank you

Thank you. This is good to know. Seems like most of the hoops come from the medical team and not insurance.
