I'm so glad to be here! I found BariatricPal through the Facebook page. Right now, I was on liquids but I am going to be starting the pureed stage tomorrow. I couldn't be more excited! I decided to get Weight Loss Surgery a year ago but it took me an entire year of getting my head on straight and getting in the right mindset to prepare for surgery, even after all of the nutrition classes that I took. In December of 2020, everything changed. I was at my highest weight at 470lbs and I just remember all those days I spend crying and obsessing about food and just being in pain every movement I make including not being able to catch my breath for just five minutes. I decided that now is the time! I then lost 70lbs in almost 4 months. My goal was to get the sleeve in April and I made it happen! I was approved for surgery on 4/19 and it was the best decision I have ever made in my life. The bad parts I guess about the surgery would probably be the mindset of it all. For example, I get stressed and angry a lot and the one thing I want to do is eat, thats how I got this big in the first place but after surgery you cant do that anymore, or you can really harm yourself. But one of the best parts about this surgery is that I dont feel physically hungry anymore! I feel like a normal person
