Hope you have a wonderful trip to Hawaii! Sounds like a really great time- especially as I'm currently freezing my butt off up here in the north! Also, Blaze, thanks for the great tip about turkey sausage. I need to try that! Sounds tasty

How much have you lost July Butterfllies??
PDXBandster replied to lotzasunshine's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Food journaling is a FANTASTIC idea! Thanks for the reminder! I need to get my butt in gear as well. though I know why I've been stalling (too much fun with food and friends!) But the holidays are right around the corner and it's time to get back on track. Thank you band for making this possible! Much love to you all. We can do it! -
Thank you SO MUCH. I needed this :scared2: You guys are just the best. I don't know what I would do without you all. Thanks for the constant encouragement! Here's to getting to coal- 30 more pounds!!!
-
In fact, I'm hoping to get pregnant myself in the next few years, so reading your story about being pregnant with the lap band is so encouraging! so thank you and again congrats on your blessing

Hey everyone! Been a little down on myself lately and I'm not sure why. I think for the first time I've realized what a life long decision this was. I'm feeling pretty good (still some minor port soreness- all is well, checked with my doc) but for some reason I keep dwelling on my decision to get the band. Anyone ever do this? I don't even know why I'm doing it! I feel great and I've lost 70lbs...who knows. I'm in a bit of a slump. Need some positive thoughts! Thanks everyone!

hahaha yes! I second the "sexy costume!" Just had my first Halloween as a sexy bar maid and never felt more beautiful! Thank you lap band! Also, you know you're a bandster when you have to budget in new clothing for you're 2010 finances! -

Congrats Katherine!!!!!!! Such wonderful news and such a testament to your hard work! I'm down about 70 pounds myself- and feeling great! -
Yea the sore port is a funny feeling- but certainly not painful. Just happy to be losing weight and feeling better. I'm down to 188 now- which is crazy for me. I don't think I've weighed around this since my freshman year in college! Thank you lap band! I've really gotten into my work out again- any of you tried yoga? Man it's so relaxing and SUCH a get workout. I miss reading these posts. So glad to be back on here now. Blessings!

Oh friends, I've missed you all so much! Things have been going really well for me out here, in fact so well that I haven't been posting in forever! Weight loss has stalled a bit (though I think that's because I've been having too much fun with friends on the weekends with wine and the occasional beer). I has some port site pain yesterday that was strange, but I really haven't been having too much of that lately. Have any of you? I guess it's pretty normal to occasionally get some soreness. How are all of you? Everything is looking (and FEELING!) so wonderful it makes me smile!

How has everyone been doing with food? Especially with these upcoming holidays? I have pretty minimal restriction, but I've definitely found that certainly things just don't go down the way they used to anymore. It took me a really long time to even get to that place! I was having no restriction for the longest time! But now I notice that with dry meat, certain types of rice, and even doughy bread- things are definitely not as smooth! Never thought I would be HAPPY for that! haha Anyone have any special food ideas for the holidays? I think I'm going to plan on dunking the turkey in lots of cranberry sauce (not the best, but better than gravy!)

YAY KIMLAY! Congrats on the fabulous weight loss! I'm almost to Onederland myself...only 13 more pounds! can't wait :rolleyes2: even though i don't always post on here, i just want you all to know that reading your stories gives me so much hope and keeps me so inspired. i went back recently to my college reunion and people couldn't believe how much weight i'd lost. so thanks for that- couldn't have done it without my July Butterflies!!!!
-
Well- I guess I too am in bandster hell! I got my second fill a week ago and I still don't feel any restriction. Well- maybe just a little bit more than the last time. :cool2: But everyone here is SO encouraging. And you guys are right- it's not just up to my band to help me lose weight...it's up to me TOO! I've been working out consistently every day during my lunch break and drinking Protein shakes for Breakfast and eating sensible lunches. My only weakness is late night eating...ugh! I struggle with that SO SO much. But I'm trying to keep busy at night and distract myself as much as possible. Perhaps I'll get online and chat here tonight! LOL Much love everyone!

Hi everyone! What can I say- it's been way too long. I miss you guys! A little update on myself- Been feeling really good. My clothes (especially my jeans) definitely don't fit anymore. Which is a GREAT feeling. I'm down a total of 30 pounds which has been GREAT- HOWEVER I've only lost 3 pounds these past 3 1/2 weeks  My fill was doing absolutely nothing for me. I could eat rice, bread, you name it! It all went down! That being said- I was still very careful to only pick good foods- but I was definitely hungry alll the time. Anyone else experience this? Yesterday I went in for my second fill so we'll see how everything feels. I am only allowed liquids for two days after a fill, then mushies for another two days...so once I can eat solid food again I'll be able to gauge this whole "full" feeling. Are you guys feeling full yet? Let me know!
-
oh and i'll dig into my recipe book tonight and post some more lap band friendly recipes asap! :tt2:
-
So I ate a half of a toasted tuna fish sandwich yesterday. no problems!!! but i am looking forward to more restriction down the road...bc im definitely still hungry!
-
Hey everyone! sorry im just now getting back to you. yes, you mix all the ingredients together, spray a square baking dish with some pam, and bake1 quiche usually has a pie crust, but I leave it out. it's super yummy!!
-
Yea I had my first fill a week ago and I'm feeling no restriction. But I am losing weight-fast enough that my doc prescribed preventative gall stone meds to me! Anyone else on these? Anyway- It's definitely been frustrating not having the restriction that I desire with my band, but I have another fill September 25, so we'll see! I've been working out every day (I swim laps during my lunch break) and staying active and outside on the weekends. Trying to soak in the sun before it goes away all too soon :w00t: It's been a great learning process, and even though I can eat a lot more than I thought- I'm trying my best not to. I just keep hearing this voice that says "don't blow this!" and it makes it easier for me to stick with the healthier foods. Have you guys tried quiche? It's a very soft/mushie friendly food and I've been loving it for lunch and dinner: 6 eggs 1/2 cup milk 1 cup cheese salt and pepper dash of nutmeg 1 can of spinach bake on 375 for 35 mins! it's super easy and VERY yummy. Good way to get in protein AND veggies :biggrin2: Also, I had the morningstar farm chicken nuggets. They are vegetarian, but lots of protein and a very healthy alternative to real chicken nuggets! Anyway- hope this helps. I love sharing recipes and stories. You guys are the best :biggrin2:

hey everyone- had my first fill on tuesday and im still not feeling any restriction i had liquids for two days after, mushies for two days, and i start solids again on sunday. anyone struggle with this?
-
Just got my fill yesterday and I feel no restriction. Is this normal? I have to be on liquids for two days and mushies again for two days then back to soft foods  Do any of you eat noodles on soft foods? I'm really craving pad thai.

Hi everyone- I am 3 weeks post op :tt2:, but having a little bit of port pain today. I walk for 30 minutes every day at the gym. Today it felt pretty tight (like it hurt to suck in my stomach). Is this pretty normal? I haven't had a fill yet or anything like that. Thanks for your help!
