    Help… I cheated on Pre-op diet TWICE!

Could you drop your serviette on your plate and quickly catch a big piece of food then it wouldnt look like you didnt eat. You can hide it back under the serviette when they collect the plate Men always think they notice things but have you ever seen a guy looking for anything in a place you told them to look ,,,, joke I did 21 days and found it hard going. I am sure its to break your old food habits. I never want to repeat it. You are giving yourself the best ever present. A little slight of hand will help. Goodluck
  3. My first 9 days post surgery were quite traumatising. I was not ready for the sleep depravation and symptoms of a swelling in my new stomach. I had constant foamies, all day and night for 9 days. I was honking foam like a over powdered washing machine. I have been unable to take my medicines and vitamins In a fashion all I have managed to eat/ drink is squash, broth and coffee [ I am allowed] Day 10 arrives and I feel better. I tried some well pureed ramen broth with chicken and vegetables and later that day a banana milkshake with peanut butter added. I am allowed to drink milk instead of protein shakes, just adding extra dried milk powder and to it. Protein shakes are expensive in the Uk and unless I have to I will stay on milk. I need to work on getting a breakfast into my regime. At the moment it may be another milkshake but its getting my liquid content up too. I feel like I am a week behind my peers. So I will do a week of these liquids before moving to the next staging post. I have no hunger and get full signals on so little liquid, About 4 oz. Should I continue with the soup/ milkshake at a later time ? Or call it eating over Any help gratefully received

    Listen to your sleeve…

You will know it as soon as you get it. It is over eating and in my case drinking too quickly. It causes like regurgitation of compact white foam - like bubbles. It fills your mouth and you have to spit. It doesn't stop till you throw up.

Day 10 of my new life

No I haven't but I will try to introduce some day by day but I know they will restrict my drinking time. I am so thirsty. Some of my tablets are tiny but I am a little apprehensive about them getting lodged and starting foaming again. I will have to be brave and pull up my old lady pants and get on with it.

    Help… I cheated on Pre-op diet TWICE!

How lucky do you feel ? , how much do you weigh ? You are risking your surgeon opening you up and stopping the surgery. Stress will always be with you and going down the route of fast food will not get you the results you crave post surgery. Do you think you may need extra therapy ? People on this forum have cheated and gotten away with it. I have read 2 where the surgery stopped. It can be very risky with a large fatty liver. Please come back and tell us how you doing
  7. I get foam...... Its destroying. I have learned a new sign when to stop this week though - my nose runs

Had surgery 11/29: a new life starts

On this forum it doesnt matter that we live out of America. I am from the UK. We are all at some part of our lives in the same boat. Have the same hopes and fears and expectations. The best part is the people on here go back years and have so much knowledge. Its so comforting. I love raw fish, the rice is 2nd My first meal will be quality raw fish in 5 weeks. I may only eat a little bit but boy oh boy will I enjoy the experience. Good luck
  9. We will not feel the restriction until our tummies are healed and we are eating real food. There is a little search box at the top of the page, write ? Always feeling hungry .... or never feel full. There are tons of people who trod these forums before us and have all the knowledge. Apparently you will know it when you get it. You are working the program so well, a few more weeks will see you fine

    Listen to your sleeve…

I keep making dumb mistakes and suffer for them. I had egg salad in a little ramekin and cleaned my plate as pre surgery - foamies ! we are not friends

    November Surgery Buddies!!!

I got home last night after a five day stay in hospital. I had swellings and struggling still to get even liquids down. I also really struggled with the tablets getting stuck, who knew dissolved tablets are not really dissolved. I have no pain at all but am just weak and wobbly. I am glad I got everything prepared in advanced. I will need a few days more than everyone else to feel it was a good idea to go through with this

I am so genuinely pleased for you. Onwards and downwards
  18. I agree, the same has happened to me. My pre op is 0 carbs and only protein from low fat milk and low fat yogurt. Toothpaste is my best friend

    December Surgery Buddies

I am nearing the end of the pre op diet and have found it a incredibly hard 3 weeks. It has broken my habit foods and comfort eating. I am not enjoying my diet at all. Its just food for my body. I bought jigsaws and books. Never touched them. I feel like I have spent so much time preparing vegetables, its all I have done. Its just something to get through, we have to or the surgery is off. Good luck

    UK forum users

Hello Eggy, I live between Leeds and Manchester and was told that due to covid all NHS Bariatric surgery is off the table. They are concentrating on other surgeries ... I have no doctor at my local health centre that I feel I can speak too and when I tried in the past I just got told to diet again My journey started early this year, I was shocked to realised I had caused my own misery. I was at high risk for covid because of my weight. I thought it was because of my other conditions. I spent all those months indoors and really frightened, because of myself. In that time I managed to get back to my highest weight ever. Then I became diabetic, my last straw. I admit I had to hitch up my big girl pants and be brave. I looked at local private hospitals near me and sent some online inquiries asking the costs. It is no good thinking about it if I can not afford it. It has taken 9 long months since then to get to where I am, pre op tests being ok, 4 days from surgery. Ask away, I will try and help anyway I can
  21. My surgery is 24th Nov. I have done 2 of 3 weeks of the pre op diet. I am in the UK and we seem to have docs with different diets here. I am allowed Milk, veg, yogurt and fruit. It works out at about 1000 to 1200 cals a day. I am sick and tired of the veg prep and the boring menu. Its cold here so I want warm food. My poor husband hates my farts TMI. I can look at my doctors photograph and call him an absolute b*****d and a torturer and please would he end this and move my surgery forward to this afternoon Anyone on a more restricted diet has my complete sympathy,

    Depression and gastric bypass

I have had depression for a long time. Last year in lock down with all the bad news all the time almost broke me. Friends and family rallied round and helped me along. I realised I have bad days and they pass. Exercise and getting out of the house really work for me. Most people who come to bariatric surgery have dieted and failed many times. We have come to believe that even this will fail for us. I have read thousands of posts on this site and people say this over and over. What will we do when we fail at this fails too ? Looking deeper into their posts shows how much weight they did loose. This has helped me. I am 7 days from surgery and it cant come soon enough. I will get nervous as the day comes nearer but thats just surgery nerves. You are not locked into yours, you can walk at any point. If you are not ready you will know. Be kind to yourself, take some pressure off and just breathe.

    no more dairy...ugh! Breakfast?

There are nut and coconut yogurts especially for vegans. I like coconut milk best of all the alternate milks.
