  1. I had a 3 week pre op and after the first week it got so tough. I was unable to watch my husband eat or smell the food cooking. So no I wouldn't have been able to watch these challenges. I did how ever read all the posts on here of Before and after Pics. It helped with my motivation

    Full too soon after eating

I am almost 7 months out and chicken doesn't sit well with me. Every few weeks I try it again but not yet. I am ok with all the other meats but only in tiny amounts like 2 ounces. Every month sees an improvement for me. I hope you get that too.

    Weird feeling..

It is tough in the first few weeks , we all go through it. Its major surgery and we under estimate that. Lots of us have had buyers remorse in the first month but it does get better, Once you begin to getting your water and protein quota in your body things start to get on the right track and you feel better. Take things as easy as you can, be kind to yourself, have naps if you need them. If you are still having spaced out days or dont feel right ask to see your team P.S. if you are dehydrated { is your urine really dark coloured ?} you might need to go to the ER to get it put right I hope you feel better soon

    Second Month Stall?

Yes its very common. I personally had a 5 week stall at 2 months out but I was not getting in enough protein or water for my daily diet. My dietician said it was like a flight of stairs - plateau's and down wards, over and over. You will get very use to it on your journey. Good luck with a drop soon
  6. I detest water on its own, so I drink sugar free squash with lots of cold water. Bouillon cubes well diluted with hot water, especially in winter. Glasses of ice cold milk and as much coffee as possible in between. If I have any in the house, I will drink tomato juice too. In the UK our rules seem more liberal than in the States I loved soda before my op but can not drink it now it blows me up As @catwoman7 said - The world according to Eggface is so useful

    Multi vitamin

I take supermarket branded ones. One in the morning and one in the evening, after food. Always separate your doses through the day

    Thing I miss most

I have my teams consent to try a few sips to help with my protein. A warm coffee does help with chewing the meats

    UK self funding sleeve

I had my Sleeve done last November, right in the thick of Covid. I am not sure if Covid made a difference but I imagine it did. My private hospital was picking up a lot of ops from the NHS. It was very busy. In all it took 8 months from start to finish. I was initially told 4 - 6 months. The hospital that I went to had to stop its Bariatric work and have its practices audited. That took an extra, very frustrating 2 months. Every surgeon has their own pre op diet some lucky people have none or just a day on liquids. I got 3 weeks of milk and vegetables. High carb veg was not allowed.
  11. Hello elesir8, Yes lots of people feel like this at the start. Me included. Its ok to go back a stage for a few days and then try again. It took me a lot longer to get onto each stage than other people. I was told to eat 6 tiny meals a day but I still struggled to get in my protein and water. Confer with your team because everybody is given a different diet and timeline. You are weak because you have had a major operation and are eating so little. Be kind to yourself and rest. Things will get better soon. If you have the time, fill in your data. Click on the little down arrow by your name at the top of the page. Fill in the surgery and then progress in the sidebar. It helps us help you. We can see how far out you are.
  12. I have this problem too. I have been told to take iron less multivitamins. I hope it works for us both

    Feeling irritable

I didnt know but I had it explained to me. Our hormones live in our fat cells. We are loosing weight rapidly and releasing all these hormones into our systems. I found it like the menopause or pregnancy all rolled into one. I cried so much and my ever caring husband got the full length of my tongue a few times when he was just trying to help.

    Vaginal Dryness

Another thought for you to consider - Have you changed any bath, shower or clothes washing products in the past few months? Even the toilet paper we wipe ourselves with can cause dryness. During Covid in the UK we had a shortage of toilet paper and I had a similar problem. I started using one with coconut oil in or Aloe Vera and have no problems now. I hope you get this sorted soon

How to get back on track :(

You need to weigh and track every thing you eat and drink. That way you know what you are doing. Eat good food. Protein first then vegetables then carbs. Up your exercise if you can. Good luck

    UK forum users

I bought one but its all in American measures and takes ages to convert. I have never used it. A complete waste of money
  20. Dont do a trial. It would serve no purpose. Its hard and has to be done before the surgery. That is the only thing that keeps you on the straight and narrow course. You just dont have the same goal line fear with a trial Have some food funerals instead, I did

    fobit

I love your name Fobit. I wonder if it means the same as in my part of the UK ? To Fob it off means to put it off for another day. It could be school, work or just chores. I have a sleeve and drink Tomato juice regularly. I take 4 co-codomol ever day. I hope you get the answers you need, good luck with the research

    Over eating

I didnt feel my real restriction until 4 months out. In the early stages, when I was full I got a runny nose. A month later I got hiccups. At 6 month plus, I have to guess because I dont feel my restriction for about an hour later. If I have eaten too much I pay for it for about 3 hours. About once a week I get really hungry and seem to be eating all day but then I eat very little the day after. I average about 700 to 800 cals a day.
