  1. Get hold of who ever prescribed the antidepressant tablets and tell them what you are feeling like and who took you off them. Its wrong on so many levels. You are not to go cold turkey on these tablets. You should have been weaned off them for months. After this surgery you will feel very emotional and weepy. Lots of us feel buyers remorse but that does get better I assure you, I couldn't drink or eat either, was sick all the time and at one point my team thought I had a stricture. You need to contact your team to make sure this is not happening to you too. Its a simple thing to rectify. You may have a allergy to the fake sugars in the shakes and need to find alternatives, many have. Can you drink milk, its got lots of protein in it and tastes better than those shakes . I put a spoon of peanut butter and a piece of banana in mine for extra protein. You can also beef it up with extra dried milk powder stirred in. Other milks were ok on my diet sheet too, like oat milk etc. I still drink a pint of milk a day. Don't bother with food for a few days let your tummy settle. I was told to do my best with drinks but if I couldn't make the quota, well its ok. One day I did and I got better and my mood did change. Take some pressure off yourself and breathe deep. Nobody but this forum told me the first month was so awful.

    Unhappy

As @toodlerue says the beginning is awful. We dont realise how big a surgery this is and how it will change us. I had buyers remorse as do many others but it passes. Contact your team again and tell them you are still struggling. It will get better once you reach your daily quotas

    Food Before and After Photos

I had them a lot pre surgery, Once opened you need to dump them in a sieve and drain them. Run them under cold water to rid them of the smell and put them in at the end of anything you need them for. They just need warming through
  5. Lots of people struggle with the liquids early out, me included. Do the best you can. If you struggle with cold water try warming it.
  6. Any liquids count towards your total. Well done on achieving it.

My taste buds are weird now LOL

To me hummus and cooked salmon taste like they have been in the dustbin in the sun for 10 day eeeuw. My sense of smell was just like when I was pregnant, certain aromas like foods frying would make me wretch. Now that has calmed and I am so happy about it
  8. I live in the north of England where its mostly wet and cold so my loose skin is not really an issue but at the moment I am in Spain. Its hot. In the evening I can cover my arms but during the day in a swimsuit my arms are out for all to see and it does bother me. I have a 2 inch dangle on my bingo wings. As soon as I am at my set point these ugly things are coming off asap

    9 Days Post Op

When all your stitches or staples heal on your new tummy, you will start to get full signals again. But till then you need to play it by ear. Some doctors give amounts, some don't. Mine said don't worry your restriction will kick in soon. Early out my nose ran or I sneezed ! Now its whack ! you have had enough. My restriction is fierce and my team say oh that's great you will loose more. I am never hungry. Apparently it does not last and I will regret it when it does. Once you get your restriction you will have to eat slower and chew more

    Pain

Are you taking big mouth fulls ? That hurts, Or maybe try a warm drink if your drink is icy cold. This feels like a shock to the stomach early on.

    just venting

Yes its the worst. After four or five days you will feel less hungry and just knuckle down and get on with it. I had three weeks. I just could not wait for it to end it is so boring. It felt like some cruel game some Doctor had conjured up just to make their day better. The diets are so random from doctor to doctor

    Shocked? Yes I am

I have just realised that I have joined the Hundred Club. I weighed my self this morning and forgot to log it. I am crying with joy at the minute. Last week my dietician said I was smashing it and now I truly believe I am. My surgery was only 6 months and 3 weeks ago. Tomorrow I go abroad on holiday for 2 weeks. The last few holidays I put 12 pounds on. How will WLS help me keep my down wards trend I wonder ?

    Before and After Pics

You are smashing it. Well done.
  16. I always wore wide leg trousers and hated them. Massive to iron and flapping about my ankles when worn. Now I wear tight to my leg tapered trousers and feel so good in them.

    Buyer remorse and emotional

Yes I had buyers remorse and mood swings and I regretted it for about 2 months. It was super tough. It is big surgery and big changes. Our female hormones are totally out of whack, It made me so moody . At almost 7 months out, its like having a baby, I have almost forgotten the dreadful issues I had. Just get through each day, your next one will be better than the last. Be strong

Congratulations on your date. Have a pre birthday celebration before your pre op diet. The puree stage was not my favourite. Good luck

    Surgery Postponed - Emotional Wreck?

Yes it is normal especially if you have already begun your pre op diet. Its another damn week you will have to suffer it. Mine ended up being postponed 2 months and I was rocked to my core. If you are like me you will have wanted this surgery for so long, any set back is awful. After a few days of sulking and moaning, I had a serious talk with myself. We cant change it so we have to lump it, as we say in our end of the UK
  20. You might not have to go with out your beloved birthday cake by November but it would be a teeny tiny amount to what you ate before. Good luck with your surgery

    Tattoo Timing

As a 63 year old woman, I was quite amused to be asked if I had, had any piercings in the last 6 months. It would have affected my surgery. As an after thought I would loved to say I had a Prince Albert piercing just to see their faces

    Slow weightloss

Please do not compare yourself to others. That way will demoralise you. We all have a different journey but if we stick at it we will all get to the finish line.
