Sorry to hear about your stressful day. You said you were being watched, who is watching, and do they have the right? It is hard to deal with family issues right now especially. We just have to try to think of ourselves and our health. Stress will cause problems for us that is for sure. You might have to be assertive with whomever you need to be. Jean

When I lay on my left side I am sore the next morning. Sometimes when I have pain I gently massage the area or apply a little pressure and it helps. Everyone is different though. -
Hello, Just wanted to post an update on me. I had lap band surgery on April 17th, 2008. I have lost a total of 51 pounds including the post-op weight loss. I have had 2 fills and am scheduled for another one this month. I am still eating too much of the wrong things. I need to get back on track and behave myself. :wink2:

That is wonderful!! Thanks for the encouragement. I needed that. I hope to be able to say that when I am that far post op. Jean:thumbup:

I had all 3 done at the same time. Maybe that effected my recovery time too. But, I am glad I had it all at once and got it over with. Jean

I had that same surgery about 3 years ago. I had the hysterectomy for a different reason but the bladder tacking and the rectum fixed was for the same reason. I have MS and don't recover as quickly as other people. It was suppose to be 6 weeks recovery time and I didn't recover for 12 weeks, then I had to sit on a donut pillow for a month or 2. The surgery wasn't that bad in itself and I done ok with it. I also have diabeties which didn't help none either. Hope this helps a little. Jean:redface:

My name is Jean and I live in Corbin, Ky. I was banded in Georgetown, Ky. on April 17th, 2008. I have lost 40 pounds with 1 small fill. I am so glad that I had the lapband surgery, I feel so much better already and can walk without my cane. I have been reading some of the post and I am really impressed with everyone's accomplishments. Jean:thumbup: -
I am glad I had lapband surgery. I had my surgery on April 17th, 2008. I have lost 40 pounds and had only 1 small fill. I am scheduled for another fill on July 16th. This is the best thing I have done for myself in years.... Jean

Actually I am from Corbin I just went to Georgetown to have my surgery. I am amazed and so is the doctors at how well I have done. I give God the glory I sure couldn't do it with out Him. I don't have a whole lot of support from family it might be because I never told them that I was having surgery. I hope to be able to tell more good stories and also to hear good stories from you and everyone else too. Good luck with your surgery let us know how you do. Take care. Jean:thumbs_up:

Dr. Weiss did my surgery at Georgetown Hospital. I have an appointment for my second fill on July 18th. I have Medicare so I didn't have to wait to be approved. My first all day appointment was Jan. 25th. I had to have the pre-opt testing after that and then I had the 2nd all day on April 1st and surgery on the 17th of April. Good luck with your diet and anticipated surgery. Jean

I saw the surgeon on April 1st and had my surgery on April 17th.

No, I didn't have any swelling and I don't even know where my port is suppose to be. I have had 1 fill but I didn't watch to see where she inserted the needle into my port. Jean
