Hi, I'm a 46 yr old divorced female, bande in May 08 who has lost weight, gained, lost weight and gained weight since. Looking for someone for support and who understands the uneven and long process.
-
thanks for your reply. do you have days when you feel full and days when not? also, what are some meals that you eat that you find keep you full and help you lose weight? thnks
-
I was wondering if anyone had a sample eating plan, ie, how much to eat and what to eat. I was told to eat a 1/2 cup of food which is not very much and no snacking. I was also told to stay away from carbs. Is that one egg or two eggs? If so, what else to eat with it. I've tried sticking with this but end up very hungry. Thanks!

everything you are feeling is totally normal. most of us, including me, feel exactly the same way at times. you are probably feeling this more so bc you are approaching your goal. are you sabotaging yourself? are you afraid of something? so you had a set back for a few days. but you've also done damn great losing 45 lbs!!! so tomorrow when you wake up, tell yourself it's a brand new day and a brand new start. you can and you will do it! -
protein, protein, protein.

My surgeon bans Jello...and I really miss it! Have you any of guys done jello?
-
I guess my dr. must have a jello-bias. never heard of not having cold liquids post band.
-
I love jello but they don't allow bc they say it can cause the band to slip. does not make sense to me.
-
Concerned with slippage.

Your food plan of choice.

Hi, I was banded mid April, 2008 and have had one 3.5 cc fill in a 10 cc band. What do people find keeps them fullest longest? Are you guys strict about eating only Protein first? what about sandwiches/wraps? thnks -
My dr. says no jello, ever! Are you allowed jello?
-
Of course, Nancie! I was hungry, too so I know how you feel. Try to ask yourself if you are really physiologically hungry or hungry just because you are used to being hungry! You really have to work on your brain during this process. I lost weight initially then gained some back. I just got "filled" so I feel more motivated. It's tough, but you'll do it!

Hi there! Banded in May 2008
ladybird replied to ladybird's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I have the lap band they advertise on lapband.com. not sure how much it holds. I was banded in CT 4-12-08. -
Stumbled on this website when looking for information. Looks great! A virtual support group and lots of good information. I just had my first fill a few days ago and it hasn't done anything. I was comforted to see other people sharing this same experience.

Hi there! Banded in May 2008

An advanced practice nurse gave me 3 ccs. He said he was being aggressive bc I'm small (4'11"). He just palpated me to feel for it which hurt like hell; esp since he could not find it the first time after a lot of poking. He had to do it a second time, more poking and finally found it. I'm still a bit sore. he said next time it shouldn't be so hard to find since now he knows where it is. that's interesting about a dr. for fills only. -
After the fill - what am I looking for????
ladybird replied to LundyLane's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I was banded 5-12-08 and lost weight the first month. the last few weeks, I went back to my old tricks and started to gain some weight back. just had my first fill a few days ago and it doesn't feel like it's doing much. the nurse who "filled" me said I could come back sooner if I was still hungry. how long do you guys think I should wait? How soon after the "fill" should you know it's up to maximum efficiency? -
call your dr.! seriously, sounds like it's too tight.

You'll do just fine! I had mine in May and it wasn't that bad at all. The preop diet was no fun... Good luck on your new adventure!

There is something called Nayonaise that you can get in a lot of stores that is a soy product and low calories. It's not bad. Are you trying to stay away from mayo because of the calories? I was going to also, but my surgeon told me not to; the idea of the band is to eat smaller portions and the fat keeps you satisfied. you could also mix the nayonaise with real mayo

You must have read my mind because I'm looking for a lapband buddy, too! I'm in CT and was banded 5-12-08 and just had my first fill. Would love to have your email.
