seriously. for about 6-7 mos now, i've had nothing but problems... i get sinus infections and upper resp infections often due to my allergies. once i get sick, my band get tight and i have to get Fluid out. then once i'm better, i get it back in. it seems like i'm there every 6-8 weeks doing this. i am getting sick of it. like now for instance. i went in the week before xmas due to being very sick and had fluid taken out. went in this past monday to have it put back in since i felt 100% better. did fine after the fill and did fine yesterday (tues). got up this morning and tried to drink a protien drink and have been sick all day long. i cannot keep anything down - including liquids. called the doctor and will have to go into the office tomorrow around 4. so that means nothing to eat/drink until tomorrow evening. this is getting frustrating and i just dont know what to do anymore. i want to keep my band because when it's all good, it works perfectly! i just dont know what to do. when i voice my concerns to my surgeon, he just says that i must be sensitive. anyone know what could be going on or what i could do? maybe i should just have everything taken out and start completely over with my fills?? ugh!

i got banded in april 2008 and have had NO problems with my band. right around xmas, i started getting pain in my back. it wasn't too bad and its was on and off. so i finally went to the doctor earlier this month and had xrays done. was told i had bone spurs and needed to see a pain mgt doc for possible back injections. the doc i was referred to a good distance from my house and i dont wanna drive that far so i've been trying to find someone closer. so i've been dealing with it when it starts bothering me. the doc also gave me anti-inflamatory pills as well, but i never started taking them. now the pain is more frequent and is right after i eat anything. i can hardly eat 4 bites before i am full and then i'm in pain... someone told me i could have gallbladder issues so i decided to check it out just in case. i went to the doc wednesday and he scheduled me for an ultrasound. we went to lunch thursday and i ate 3 bites of a salad before i was in pain. BAD PAIN. i was crying and i never cry. i ended up going to the ER because of it. this was at 2pm. finally at 6:30 they come get me for an ultrasound. then about 7ish the doc walks in and tells me there is nothing wrong with my gallbladder. i ask him why it hurts like hell after i eat then. he said i could have acid buildup (which i've NEVER heard of) and to see my reg doctor. i finally got home at almost 9pm. let me also say that for the past 2 weeks i've been dealing with a sinus infection. i went to the doctor thursday (before my trip to the er) and got anitbotics. i haven't been able to start the anitbotics yet since i've been having trouble keeping everything down. i called my surgeons office friday morning and asked to come in. i told them about the ER trip and my sinsu issues. i was told that when people have colds/sinus problems, it can cause the stomach to swell making the band tighter. the nurse told me that alot of people need Fluid taken out of the band until they are better. most of friday i couldn't keep anything down - solids or liquids. i decided to start taking my anti-inflam pills and guess what?? i was able to eat some Soup and keep it down. last night, we went to dinner and i was able to eat a small amout of solids and keep them down, but my back started huring shortly after eating. i'm not sure what the heck is going on with me. i have an appt monday with my surgeon to discuss. anyone deal with anything similar before? thoughts?? suggestions??

could all this be band related?
mommytoethan replied to mommytoethan's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
my last fill was in october and it's been perfect until now. not sure why it would give me problems now.. unless its because of my sinus infection. -
i've been thinking about doing it. just curious what kind of results everyone had.

my surgon didn't give me a time frame. he told me it was up to me. that being said, i was banded on a tuesday and by the weekend i was fine... so i only waited a few days.

just curious if it's possible to stretch out your pouch.... i have a little over 8ccs in my band and sometime i can eat quite a bit - other times i can only eat a small amount.... and yes i have restriction. is it possible to stretch your pouch? if so, what can you do to reverse it?

I had surgery April 8, 2008. As of today, I'm 2 lbs away from losing 35 lbs... It's been slow, but at least it's coming off. That being said, I feel like I'm failing my band. I try to eat right and stay away from the junk, but I find myself eating it. I dont eat nearly as much of it as I used to, but I still eat it....and I hate it. Even if I tell myself I'm not going to eat it, I do. Does anyone else have this problem? I dont want to fail my band. :crying:

I feel like I'm failing my band...

i dont buy it for me - my husband wants it. i've talked to him about it and he says that he's not the one on the diet so why shouldn't he be able to eat what he wants. i agree with him, but at the same time it pisses me off that he knows i'll eat it. -

they say old habits are hard to break, right? I just had a fill a few weeks ago - i have 7.3ccs in my band right now. but since my last fill, i have not lost any weight. i feel restriction, i'm just not making the best food choices at times. -
i ate some baked chicken breast about 3 hrs ago. i have this pain feeling in the middle part of my chest where my band is. it's not hurting me, but it's uncomfortable. i am thinking i have some chicken stuck, but i'm not vomiting and i've had some sips of Water and it's all staying down. is it possible i just ate to much? or could i have something stuck?

how can you tell if food is stuck?
mommytoethan replied to mommytoethan's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
thanks all! the feeling has passed so i guess i just ate to much! -
Hello All, I live in Texas (ellis county) and am looking for a lap band buddy. I had surgery April 8 and just had my 3rd fill. If anyone is interested in being buddies, please email me. You dont have to live near me, but it would be nice if you did! I would just like someone I could email/talk to daily and talk about our progress. Hope to hear from someone!

i had my surgery on april 8th. i just went in for my 3rd fill this past wednesday. i'm still not feeling much restriction. i can drink an entire glass of Water without sipping. i can eat more than a few ounces - in fact, i'm sure i could eat an entire plate of food (and have a few times). i've lost right at 20lbs since surgery. i made an appt for my 4th fill so i can get the band tighter, but i have to wait until july 8th. please let me know if you had the same issues with restriction as i am. i'm starting to get frustrated. :tt2: thank you!

hi all, i was banded on april 8th and i've lost right at 20 lbs as of today. i just had my 3rd fill last week. i still dont have restriction like i thought i would. i can chug a glass of Water in no time and still eat more than a few ounces of food. has anyone experience no restriction?? i am going for a 4th fill in about a week so i'm hoping that that one will give me the restriction that i want and need!! at what point did you start feeling restriction?

when did you feel restriction?
mommytoethan replied to mommytoethan's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
thanks to everyone for their replies. i appreciate it! like i said, i'm hoping that my 4th fill will be the one i need. it's hard not to get discouraged when i have no restriction.... sometimes i wonder if i'll ever be able to tell i had the surgery! thanks for understanding. -
when did you feel restriction?
mommytoethan replied to mommytoethan's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Yes, the day I get my fills, I do liquids for 24 hrs. Then I move to soft foods for 24 hrs and then back to solids. -
hello, i had surgery on april 8th. i just went in for my third fill this past wednesday. i STILL do not have alot of restriction!! i can drink an entire glass of Water with no problems. i can still eat more than a few ounces at a time. i'm concerned that i'm not feeling restriction like a should. i made an appt to get a 4th fill on july 8 (that's the soonest they could get me in). to date, i've only lost about 20 lbs. :tt2: please tell me i'm not the only one who has had this problem. when did you start feeling really good restriction? i'm in another group and alot of the people said that they felt restriction by the 3rd fill.
