How Do You Know If You Need An "un-Fill"?
Barky replied to bandedehs's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have been banded for 6 years. I still have trouble with meat, pasta, and vegetables, but anything that's not good for me goes down. I get sick well after the food has gone through the band. Finally figured out for me is too much acid and all the saliva and acid comes back up. I started taking Omeprazole and it helps but still have to be careful. Ya might want to try it! -
Do you notice your stomach bother you after you eat, or anytime? Mine is usually after I eat and it usually takes 15 min or longer. I'm sure it's when my food is proccessing in my stomach, it has already passed through the band.

Hello, I had surgery 2 1/2 years ago, lost all the weight. I've had two fills loosened once and had another fill in Jan. My stomach gives me problems off and on. Since last friday 8-15-2008. The gas in my stomach builds up so bad it is bloated and burns bad. I think it is heartburn, it burns very bad in my belly no reflux. I try heartburn relief but hasn't helped lately. Any body have any ideas I would greatly appreciate it. Thank You Becky

Barky replied to SusieC's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I was banded 2 1/2 years ago, I drink reg soda. I have never had a problem just don't drink a ton. I probably didn't have any for the first couple of months. -
:help: I had my second fill about 2 months ago. When I eat I get the slime in my mouth for about 15 min. It is very annoying it doesn't happen evey time but alot of the time. Is anyone else familiar with this. I'm trying to decide on an unfill or not my weight hasn't changed much since my fill. I read about this awhile ago but it didn't concern me at the time. Now I'm going through it and need some input Thank You, Becky:confused:

Shelly thank you for your info, I'm going to try the warm liquid. I have been chewing pretty good. It is so funny how some does fine and other days not so good. I'm going on vacation next week and was trying to decide to get an unfill or not. I don't want to go to diner and have to hang out in the bathroom all night. Thank again, and good look to you Becky

Thanks for your input. Today I tried drinking a bit of water after I ate, so far nothing today. Slime, seems to be your mouth produces lots of saliva in your mouth but it is slimey not just saliva:clap2:

I'm going to have my first fill in about 2 weeks. I'm going midday should I have only liquids that morning or reg food. Also, I'm curious how people's fill were for them????? Did it make a big difference in the amount of intake.

I payed $18000 in Reno Nv. Outragous compared to most other people. Mine does include three fills. Are fills included in the $10800 you payed in San Antonio?

I was banned on March 15th, the surgery was done here locally. I thought about Mexico but felt better staying in the country. Will you go to Mexico in 6 weeks to get your first fill. I payed a pretty penny it is amazing the difference in cost. :nervous

Thanks for the info. I'm glad it is normal, I also say the thread about aloe juice. I have been keeping a warm bag on my stomach that you put in the microwave, it has been working great. Thanks again everybody:p

:help: I was banded 4 days ago. The last two days my stomach has been rumbling and rumbling especially when I put something in it. Even water. Also I have had straight diarrhea ( sorry to be so blunt) for two days. Is this normal? I am becoming concerned I dont see my DR till Wed.

I was banded 3 days ago. What you are going through is the same thoughts I had before surgery. I have struggled BIG TIME before surgery working out 90min hard cardio 4 times a week or more, and just maintaining or gaining depending on my eating. I think you are doing great, I just think people like you and me need to have lots of patience and I think it is harder for us. I also paid for surgery myself and wonder how it is going to be to answer to all the people asking how much you've lost. Good Luck to you and keep up the good work!:clap2:
