    Laxative

I agree, 15mg sennosides is quite harsh. My doctor recommended fiber supplements (OTC, which comes as powder, gummy bears or pill) and asked me to add them every day until I can eat fiber rich food (another 2 weeks at least)

    April surgeries

Indeed it seems easier now that I am eating fish, eggs, and overcooked veggies. Chewing a yogurt was not very natural to me !!!!! Thank you

    April surgeries

I had my surgery on April 28th and I am down 23 pounds (32 if I count the preop diet). My biggest issue is eating slowly - I can't seem to be able to do that, unless it is a yogurt in front of my computer while I am working. Any ideas to slow things down when I have meals with my family ?

    Hospital Bag

I took a tote bag with me to keep on my bed whenever I needed my glasses, phone, headset, book etc... easier to manage than reaching out to the nightstand (or the floor if you are as clumsy as I am!!!).

    Brusing

You may try warm pads, that works quite well with my bruises on one of my scar. And I agree with the previous post - no ibuprofen.

    Any April 2021 surgeries?!

I am so sorry it wasn’t smooth for you.

    Any April 2021 surgeries?!

Yes I am going to ask what I can take to pass a BM. I could not pass one on Tuesday already, which was my last day of preop diet.

    Any April 2021 surgeries?!

Done. I am few hours post op and I feel much better than I expected. I could already walk in my room, go to the bathroom... no real pain, more discomfort. I had gas for an hour but that’s all. Only on IV Tylenol. I have a pump for morphine. I did push twice on it in the recovery room (more because the patient next to me would not shut up !!!). It gave me nausea so I did not take morphine after these two doses. They added anti nausea in the IV, which worked in 20 min. And it did not come back. They gave me water, I think I am at 4 oz in 2-3 hours
  10. My diet did push a couple brand, but the coordinator of the center told me what specs the protein shake should have (in terms of lipids, carbs and protein contents) which I appreciate. They do push a lot for one brand of multivitamins
  11. I finally got some insight from my surgeon. He instructed my fellow patient to stop multivitamins because of her risk to develop post-op kidney stones due to vitamin C (she has a long history of kidney stones). He thought I can take mine until the day before the surgery...
  12. Interesting... I really wonder if not instructing me to stop them was an oversight from my surgeon so I am going to call his assistant.
  13. Hello ! I am at 8 days before my surgery and I was wondering if any of you were asked to stop their multivitamins 1 week prior to surgery ? My surgeon did not say anything to me but instructed another patient (who is having surgery around the same time) to stop them... any thoughts ?

    Pre-op Weight loss (Liquid Diet)

Mine will not be liquid either, but high protein and no added sugar, no starch, no fruit, very low fat... roughly 800 kcal/day. For the last meal, I can eat 3 oz dry pastas ("to replenish glycogen storage")
