Hey everyone, I'm just starting the process of getting the banded and found this site. It has been extremely helpful. I do have a few questions if you all don't mind. I think everyone has a different experiences but if someone could help that would be great. Can people still eat steak? (I'm not talking about a whole 12oz steak) I had read somewhere that it is very hard on your band and people usually get sick. How about Hamburger meat? Does it make you have gas or irritate your stomach? thanks for the answers!

I just called the number on their website about the once a month educational meeting. No one answered so I left a message. When the receptionist called me back, she was rude and basically very short. She stated that the meeting for July was full (she acted like I should have known that.) and I would have to be schduled in August. I told her that would be fine and I would like for her to schedule me for August. She then told me I would have to send in my $25.00 before she could schedule me. When I asked her if I could just pay now with a debt card, she said I could but seemed put out that she had to take the number down. I then asked if the educational meeting was manditory. She again acted like I should already know the answer and hastily stated, "Yes. you have to attend it." Is this normal? I have heard good things about Dr. Fisher and Dr. Katsis but I am thinking about going somewhere else because of this receptionist. Did everyone have to go to the educational meeting? Thanks for your responses.

Doctors in Tulsa or Oklahoma City, OK

Thanks for the info. I will check them out. However, I really want to consult a doctor in Tulsa because that is where I live. There are two doctors listed that do the surgery, Dr. Steven Katsis and Dr. Kevin Fisher. Does anyone know how I can get info on them? thanks alot. Things are starting to look better aready -
Hello all, I'm new to the forum and wondered if anyone has had any information on Lap Band doctors in the Tulsa or Oklahoma City, Ok area. I live in Tulsa but would have the procedure in OKC if need be. Thanks!
