The current leader in the clubhouse is "Stanley". Follow me here: The band is a tool The "Fat Max" line of tools is made by "Stanley" The Stanley Tool slogan is "Make Something Great!" As a bonus, the band is in my tum. And when I get to goal, he will be "Flat Stanley" (see Flat Stanley - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) Flat Stanley has adventures and I will to! I like the upbeat and positive associations with the name!

Do you have a feisty bird? Is your name Lory and you are the feisty one? Do Tell!!!!!

Ditto! I think that the comment was taken completely out of context and was turned around in some ridiculous melodrama. It likely wasn't intended as anything other than a question about whether the patient had their "ducks in a row." It IS a reality that you have to face. All people should have a will, a living will, and a healthcare power of attorney. Not because you are having surgery, but because you could trip going down the stairs and break your neck. Like the Boy Scouts say...Be Prepared!

The volume in your band doesn't matter...it's all about the flow! Don't get hung up on a number. Just like everything else, comparing band volume with others just isn't realistic, since everyone's band and stomach is different.

Martucci, your dog will not "break" your band. It's not a delicate piece of equipment at all. You will probably want to protect your tummy from the doggie just to avoid the pain if it hits your large incision. I have kitties and I'm going to have to keep them out of the bedroom for the first week or so, since one really likes to sleep on my chest.

What does your butterfly look like this afternoon? Hugs....

Hi Everbody, I survived surgery on the 12th!

My mother, a veteran of abdominal and gastro surgeries, told me that my jaw would actually hurt from the lack of chewing after surgery. She said that her doctors recommended she buy a good nite guard (wal-mart) and use it for clenching exercises. She says it works! -
Hi Heather! I'm really glad to hear that you had such a good return from your journey into bandland

Other people may be able to take the bullets straight, but I find them too sweet for that. I pour a bit into each crystal light I drink and they add a great little punch of flavor! I've tried them all and have decided to only keep the fruit punch on hand.

Oooo Steph, we have so much in common! I have four kitties and am pretty nervous about the "walk all over momma" possibilities. What kind of crafts do you do?

Friday Morning Weigh Ins! - 15th August 08
Lanakila replied to lellow's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Congrats to all! Bluegal, lellow, Ro and Accountess keep on rockin! Fee, I'm with you as "even" on the week. I'm actually quite proud of myself for not gaining, since I am still on my Farewell Tour. I guess slapping a shake in here and there has helped to minimize the damage Keep a positive attitude, and love your flaws to death! -
Yep, you will need a Yahoo ID, and yep, you probably want to do that before the draft. You'll want to do a little research before the draft so that you have an idea of what players you want to try to get. I'm happy to tutor...so ask away!

Can you still have soda's after being banded?
Lanakila replied to SusieC's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I was told absolutely no carbonated beverages ever. As a Diet Pepsi junkie, this has been the hardest thing to let go of. I won't be banded until the 28th, but I've gone ahead and given this up now. I don't want to put myself through major surgery to just go and stretch my pouch and ruin the entire purpose for the band. I was also told no caffeine...but there seems to be no hard and fast rule on that one when I read the boards. -
Oh my GOD I am soooooo sorry for you! I've been there and my heart is absolutely weeping for you. Please know that we are here for you and will never let you down. My husband said that if you can wait for the red-eye he'll come up there and whoop his ass for you...plus, he mixes a mean shake!

Wow...I completely missed the guarantee part. I'll be a little more adventurous now!

Questions relating to low bmi & protruding port
Lanakila replied to TrishaLight's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Trisha, do you have alot of comorbidities? This is a major surgery that I would not think a doctor would recommend for such a low BMI without some major co-morbidities being involved. Just curious what other factors are involved.... -
Hey Noob(E)! There are lots and lots of others who are posting over on the August 2008 Bandsters boards. C'mon over and introduce yourself to the 280+ band buddies there! Who's on your date? Who's in your state? From the home page, scroll down the menu on the left and choose Monthly Lap Band Support Groups, then select August 2008. Or, you can use this link: http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f183/ You'll love it!

Avoid the Slim Fast High Protein and go with the Low Carb. The protein is higher in the Low Carb. My doc asked me to get 50-70 grams of protein and no more than 50 grams of carbs each day.

Yeah, well, I was wondering why you would even be talkin' to Greg...what whichoo guyzez not being from the same place and all. I guess Giants loyalty trumps NY/NJ rivalries?

I'm originally from Hawai'i, where we call the stuff you pick up and throw away "rubbish." You should see what the folks here in NC look like when I ask them to "throw their rubbish out." Dunno why the linguistics are tickling my funny bone today....

 The language thing is cracking me up! For those who need translations, Jelly=Jell-O, and lowjoule=low cal. The kg vs. lbs thing was funny, but expected. This stuff is really funny, even though I should have expected it! I grew up an Army brat so I'm used to hearing faucet as spigot, line as queue, and elevator as lift. I've been living as a civilian in the US Southeast so long though that I forgot how nifty it was to hear the differences!
