Soon2bFit21 got a reaction from NCL04321 in Carbonated drinks after VSG
I just wanted to note, for anyone that is stating that artificial sweeteners can cause weight gain and don’t drink diet because of them, I would absolutely not use this as a reason or to drink diet soda. There are artificial sweeteners in your Protein Shakes, Protein Bars, yoghurt, Jello, pudding, Gatorade, mio/water flavorings, and many others items you consume. These are all foods and additions that are heavily relied upon on almost every single post op diet I’ve seen here.

So I am going to be part of the rare % that is going to say that DIET (regular high sugar carbonated have no place in anyone’s diet) have done nothing to impede my weight loss. I’m currently 5 months and down almost 80lbs. My stomach isn’t stretched from drinking these, I drink slowly and it takes at least a full hour to have 1 can. I’ve had very little issues with Fluid consumption post surgery so I don’t feel this gets in the way of staying hydrated. If you’re not having pain, bloating, or unusual sides I think this part of the many old wives tales and fallacies with weight loss surgery.

Soon2bFit21 got a reaction from SuziDavis in Want to hear from others who had botox w tummy tuck
This must be a very new procedure in the USA, I’ve never heard of it. Causing intentional gastroparesis does not sound like a safe idea for numerous reasons. Not to mention this would have to be a very deep injection and the chances of injection the wrong area would be much higher.

Soon2bFit21 got a reaction from riverlady241 in Documented weight loss attempts!
My GP happily wrote me a letter of reference that documented my own personal weight loss attempts and struggles with my weight over the years (I’d never been under a medical weight loss program before going to the Bariatric surgeon). Has your weight been a concern that was brought up to your GP before or possibly Gyno? Most are pro Bariatric and can help with this letter of reference.

Soon2bFit21 got a reaction from Goey246 in Collagen Peptides
collagen doesn’t contain every essential amino acid so that’s why they state that it doesn’t count. Mind you, either does soy or some vegetable Protein. As long as you’re not using it as your primary protein source it can definitely be counted. There are so many myths and silly practices that happen around Bariatric surgery today, this happens to be one of them.

Soon2bFit21 got a reaction from ann2472 in Sipping water
I’m only just at 6 months out and I’ve been able to drink at roughly 90% since about 2 months post. If I guzzle Water quickly sometimes I get a small twinge in my stomach but it’s gone within 30 seconds. Some people just have the ability to drink relatively normally after surgery.

Soon2bFit21 got a reaction from MelanatedQueen in Bariatric surgery and keto?
I definitely wouldn’t recommend it for at least 6 months after surgery or more. The higher fat content generally won’t be tolerated as well and you’re putting yourself at a much higher risk for gallstones. Just doing lower carb is definitely effective after surgery since your cals are so low to begin with. It’s also hard to fit in certain nutrients because of the calorie restriction combined with the diet restrictions on Keto.

Soon2bFit21 got a reaction from text in Help
I’d agree to call your surgery center just to be careful and better safe than sorry. Sometimes things can end up inflamed if you are something that didn’t agree with you and there can be discomfort. I’ve vomited due to a food intolerance and then not felt right for a couple days in terms of pressure or spasming. Your stomach is still healing and can easily be irritated.

Soon2bFit21 got a reaction from learn2cook in Constipated HELP!!
I’ve tried Miralax, Milk of magnesia. Senakot and none of them worked. Unfortunately the only thing that gets things moving for me is Exlax (which causes pretty painful cramping 6-10 hours after taking) and sugar feee chocolate.
I know the Sugar Free Chocolate isn’t the answer even though it’s within my calories for the day, so I do the exlax every week and a half. I do have bowel movements 2-3 a week otherwise. Coming from a consistent 1-2x a day my whole life, this has been a frustrating change.

Soon2bFit21 got a reaction from SummerTimeGirl in EXTREMELY Late Period
I’m 7 months out and still have very unusual cycles. This is the norm for me, but I’ve found my symptoms are greatly exacerbated even after losing 100+ lbs. I don’t haveh any advice other than I feel your pain!

Soon2bFit21 got a reaction from Nougato in Post VSG Regrets?
Are you exercising at all? This sounds like it may be something else going on that’s possibly hormonal (ie high cortisol, pcos, insulin resistance, hypothyroidism etc)
I agree to disagree on people who are not “big eaters” having the surgery. I wasn’t a big eater and spent many years with a high level of exercise and closely monitoring my diet and still ended up 340 pounds before surgery. Without getting VSG, I don’t even want to think about where my weight would be now as it would be so outrageous.
Don’t be afraid to go to multiple doctors and asking for different tests/opinions. It took me years and years to somewhat find out what was wrong with me to somewhat understand why I kept gaining weight. I cried, I had complete breakdowns in front of my husband because of the sheer frustration of it all. VSG is a wonderful tool, but if you have something going on that is causing your metabolism to lower significantly, it’s only part of the puzzle. -
Soon2bFit21 got a reaction from MissMarie in Chicken post op
If you have a food sensitivity that went unnoticed before, it may be made worse with bariatric surgery.
As other posters stated, it’s normal to have pretty major taste and smell changes post op that can take months or more to go away.

Soon2bFit21 got a reaction from GreenTealael in GENEPRO GEN 2 PROTEIN COUNT EXPLAINED ONCE AND FOR ALL!
So you’ve wasted hours on this forum spouting absolute crap and negativity, yet anyone who questions what you have to say you attempt to troll with subpar and grammatically atrocious comebacks? I’m sure you don’t work for this company at all and have no affiliation with it 😄
With that, I’m not wasting any more time on you. Have a wonderful day and I hope you’re able to move past your 2nd grade writing skills. It may help when you troll the next forum in the future. -
Soon2bFit21 got a reaction from GreenTealael in GENEPRO GEN 2 PROTEIN COUNT EXPLAINED ONCE AND FOR ALL!
What do you possibly think you’re gaining by being completely rude and utterly disrespectful?
Thanks for the advice, I walk 6 days a week and lift. Nor do I have health issues outside of things not related to my weight. But keep on assuming. -
Soon2bFit21 got a reaction from GreenTealael in GENEPRO GEN 2 PROTEIN COUNT EXPLAINED ONCE AND FOR ALL!
And it will still be considered bogus and bs. Trolling a bariatric forum with your posts isn’t going to “help” the company you’re trying to “promote”
FYI, I’ve been a nurse for over 20 years. Claiming I don’t know what I’m talking about when it comes to nutritional information and your UCLA claim is silly at best. But go ahead and keep insulting members here with your horrific grammar and obvious juvenile anger issues, it doesn’t do anything for your case.

Nice spam post and complete and utter garbage. This is why GENEPRO has been sued over this bogus claim. The only reason this was thrown out of court is the shady way this business is run and the wrong “owner” was named.

Incredible transformation and you should be beyond proud of yourself! Did you have skin removal surgery after your loss?

Soon2bFit21 got a reaction from lizonaplane in Stepped on by small dog (Ouch!)
Unless you have an underlying issue with your incisions you’ll be fine after that time. Nerve regeneration can cause hypersensitivity and pain that makes something that would normally not hurt be painful. Topical lidocaine can help.

Soon2bFit21 got a reaction from catwoman7 in Is popcorn a slider food for you?
Definitely a slider food for me as well. If I have it, I measure out a portion and place in a smaller bowl. Smart Pop and the 100 cal bags are helpful if it’s something you’d like to keep in your diet. If you feel like it’s a binge trigger, definitely keep away from it.

Soon2bFit21 got a reaction from Speschalk in DUMPING 9 DAYS POST OP
I was quoting Maisey and agreeing with what they stated, I didn’t realize you weren’t the original poster. Not sure if Maisey was speaking directly to you or the original poster.
FYI eggs are notorious for causing the foamies. I’ve seen countless people here say they cannot tolerate them early on. I’m 6 months post surgery and still can’t eat a single egg without having mild foamies. -
Soon2bFit21 got a reaction from Speschalk in DUMPING 9 DAYS POST OP
I tend to agree with this. You’re not going to dump on Water. I’ve never dumped but had the foamies countless times. The sides are very similar to dumping but take a look at what you consumed to know the difference. Also, I wouldn’t put much faith in ER doctors when it comes to bariatric surgery. Take this as first hand experience from working in an ER for 10 plus years as a nurse and being a bariatric patient myself.
