Any July 14th sleevers? What tips do you have for me? :)
twinmommy2014 replied to Rarmenta84's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Follow your preop diet dont cheat. Walk your butt off as soon as you can after you wake up in hospital-helps with gas. Realize you will be super tired easily in the first few weeks. I am 10 days post op and tired very fast. Stick with the recommended supplements and diet. -

I have had diarrhea for several days. I decided to stop drinking milk/ products and switch to soy milk (some research shows you can develop a temp lactose intolerance after surgery). I also bought probiotic supplement. I also started biotin for thinning hair. -
Post Op June 2014 Sleevers
twinmommy2014 replied to KimGettingSlim's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was sleeved on June 17. Lost 35 since I started the journey in Feb getting approved for it. Lost 8 lbs on pre op diet and 12 lbs in a week since surgery. I am off work for 4 weeks. My energy is getting better daily. I am noticing hair thinning already. I hate the protein powder I bought so I ordered some online called syntrax which is like kool aid. I am from Canada and ordered is online from the US. Syntrax - Nectar (36 Servings) from Nashua Nutrition. -

I was diagnosed with pcos at age 20. I have gained weight, have ammenorhea, high bp, high cholesterol, did infertility to get my twins. It is the only goal I have not achieved in my life-weight loss. I tried a lap band 5 yrs ago which was a disaster. Tomorrow I get my sleeve and begin a new journey. waited two years for this day. -
Any June 16th Sleevers Out There?
twinmommy2014 replied to Asdf12345's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am having surgery tomorrow June 17th. Been waiting two years since my dr referral. Cant wait! -
I live in Canada. Am doing the preop assessment for bariatric surgery which involves lots of tests, meeting with professionals (OT, dietitian, exercise guy) and being approved for it. Its covered by govt. I am opting for the sleeve. I had a failed lapband 5 years ago. Diagnosed with PCOS at 20. Metformin didn't help me conceive. I did IUI+injections and have 7 year old twins. PCOS has affected my life is so many ways-no periods ever, facial hair, depression, obesity, high blood pressure, now high cholesterol which has affected my self esteem. I decided to get the sleeve to put an end to obesity and prevent diabetes. I have lost 15 lbs in 2 months on my own by eating right and exercising. Would love to see how other PCOSers do.

Urgent help needed!
twinmommy2014 replied to chanelle102's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Seek an opinion from another gyno and get more information. The baby may very well be fine and make it to term healthy. I'd be freaked out too. Maybe this is happening for a reason. -
6 1/2 months. 64 pounds lost. Lots of before and after pics. :-)

I have similar stats. What was the hardest thing for you about this process. -
I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 20. Not a shock cause I never had AF on my own ever. I have most symptoms of it-obesity, high blood pressure, depression, excess facial hair, etc. I have met on meds for years. I take provera to induce AF 3-4 times per year. I got pregnant on IVF injectables. Clomid did not even make me ovulate. I now have 7 year old boy girl twins. If someone who has no periods can get pregnant, there's hope for you. I had a lapband 5 years ago and it was a disaster. I have been WL for surgery for almost 16 months now. I am leaning towards the sleeve.

2 months out and may be starting to develope an eating disorder?
twinmommy2014 replied to RainbowOreo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Is there a counselor available to see at your school? You just had a major life change and emotions are all over the place. You already have lost some weight. You need to seek support from a professional who can guide you thru this. Is there a WLS group in your area? If needed, go to the hospital ER and be evaluated by a dr. Maybe medication can help. Don't do this alone. -
Thinking About Removing My Band
twinmommy2014 replied to knoxknox's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I had a negative band experience and surgeon removed it after 9 months. 5 years later I am still plus size. Now I am waiting for either the sleeve or bypass through health insurance. I should get a call to start the process in a couple months. I have been waitlisted since Aug 2012. I would NEVER EVER recommend the band to anyone. I too did all the research, made the decision and spent thousands to be a complete failure. New research shows it has a failure rate as high as 50%. Wish I knew that years ago. I followed the diet, did everything right and basically threw up for 9 months. It even started to damage my esophagus. I even cried when they told me it had to be removed bc I felt like a failure. There are other options. The band is not for everyone. Do what feels right. -

Help Please! So Many Questions?
twinmommy2014 replied to Johnny12's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My band exp was negative. I wish I knew the failure rate then. I wasted thousands of dollars and had three surgeries. Now am waiting to see WL surgeon. -
I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 20, now 35. I have every symptom there is including anovulation, infertility, depression, obesity, facial hair, high blood pressure, etc. I have been on metformin for years and tae provera to induce periods. I took injectable meds and have been blessed with my twins. I had a failed lap band surgery 5 years ago cause it slipped. I have gained more weight since then and am waitlisted for WLS, not sure if I will have the sleeve or gastric bypass. I know I don't want to become diabetic (on both sides of my family) and I have never been able to loose and keep off weight.
