I went for an unfill today thankfully. I couldn't even keep down liquids. I lost 6 lbs over the weekend. I now have 2.5 in my band instead of 4.5. I can finally eat soup and am starting to feel better.
  2. I think I need an unfill. I had my first fill ever on wed and my dr added 4.5 to my 10 midband during my port revision when I was asleep. I cannot keep anything down hardly even liquids. Will it subside in a few days or should I will call his office tomorrow and get the fill taken out. I hate this.

  4. I am so glad I chose to stay local beacuse I ended up with revision surgery. The port flipped, it can happen when you heal. Glad it's dealt with now.

    Lapband Slippage

I was banded nov 5/08 and has my port revision done today. I also got my first fill while under because of the flipped port. He added 4.5 to my 10 band. I still have vomitting issues. I dont regret getting it done despite the complications. I am hoping to start feeling more restriction, eat slower and loose more weight. I have locst 17 lbs so far which is a start.

I had my port revision done today. It went well and I am not sore at all. I have lost 17 lbs to date since nov 5/08. Still have issues with throwing up, but was told that's normal at the last meeting which made me feel reassured. I had my fill done as well, he added 4.5 to my 10 band. This is my first so I will take it easy with food teh first few days with clear, then puree, then soft foods. Are fills hard to get use to?
  8. I ha dmy port fixed today. Two surgeries since Nov 5. I am still glad that I was banded. It has been harder than I thought in terms of eating slower. I throw up at least once-2 times per week. The dr filled my band with 4.5, as this was my first fill since I was banded. I am doing a clear diet today, puree tomorrow, then soft to full. Hopefully Ill get some restictionand loose more weight. Weight to date No preop required Nov 5/09 surgery date=198 1st follow up=183 (-15) Jan /08 2nd follow up (after xmas)=186 (gained 3=-12) feb 11/09 port surgery=181 (-17 total)
  9. My dr said it can jst happen naturally when it heals. So I cannot get any fills unless we fix it. We tried like 6-7 different times and at one time, he had two needles in rooting around. Not a pleasant experience. Wouldnt want to do that again. My stomach is still bruised a week later.
  10. I have to have my surgery for port repair next wed, need to be at the hosp at 915. wish me luck.

    Flipped Port

I went for my first fill today, I chose not to have one right away b/c I felt restriction with the band alone. Then over Xmas I felt hungrier and ate more, realizing its time for a fill. After several attempts, we realized my port has flipped. It was not such a great experience getting poked for a half hour or so multiple times but I realize flipped ports are common. I am having revision surgery on Feb 11, in 2 weeks, no extra cost. <!-- / message --><!-- sig -->__________________ Banded November 5, 2008 Pre-op Weight 198 lbs.

  15. Jmegirl- I appreciate your advice and it did not freak me out. I will call my dr monday. I have had too many episodes of PB/vommitting. I have lost 15-18 lbs so far but throwing up is not the way to do it. Please don't jump on anyone for sharing their opinions. I watch her posts too b/c we were banded on the same day. We are all here to share our own advice and experiences.
  16. I am still throwing up sometimes. I havent had a fill yet. I can go days eating regular food (small amt, chew well) and success. Today I thruew up my lunch and dinner. What test can they do to see if my band is ok?
  17. I have thrown up several times in the past 3 weeks. I am eating slower and chewing. I have not had any fills. Some days food goes down no prob, the next the same food gets stuck. Advice?
  18. You are not mentally sick. Cookies and treats are yummy, banded or not. People overindulge. When you do, realize it happened and move on. just don't do it too often to sabotage the band.
  19. Ok ladies, the lap band may or may not be for you. GIVE YOURSELF AND IT A CHANCE. Some days are harder than others. You made a lifestyle choice which is harder than you anticpated. You believed that you could loose weight and can. You went through an operation to improve your health. It is Christmas, the most difficult time of year food wise and temptation is everywhere. Don't feel bad for treating yourself to chocolate or turkey dinner. Realize that it takes time to learn new eating habits and to feel restricted. You CAN DO THIS AND WILL SUCCEED, one day at a time.
  20. I have no fills yet and I have restriction. If I overeat at all or eat too fast, I throw up. There is no cheating for me or I pay for it.

    Just banded and need support!!!

I am 6 weeks post banded. The first week is the worst for hunger. I was on clear liquids, then full fluids, then soft week 3 and solids week 4. I have lost 15 pounds so far. I know some people have lost more but I am happy so far. The hunger and pain was more than I imagined and i was questioning why I had it done. I am so GLAD I made this decision.

    Lapband And Pcos

Word of advice...Don`t spend too much time on clomid if it is not working. I tried it 4 times to no avail. First round of injectables worked and voila I have twins. I also took met for years as well with no luck. I was diagnosed 9 years ago with pcos. I was banded nov 5 this year and lost 15 pounds so far. No fills yet
  25. I had my second app with my surgeon today. Since I have PB (or slimmed) as I cannot tell the diff a few times, we agreed to wait until end Jan to do my first fill. I have a 7 cc band and no fils yet. I cannot eat alot of food and if I eat too fast, I throw up what I eat. i am learning to slow down and chew more. Sometimes if I eat a small amt, I get a pain and have to throw up my food. Is this PB or sliming. I have lost 15 pounds which I am happy with so far.
