  1. It must be common. I had that too. Never knew I had it but looking back it makes sense...now that it is fixed maybe I won't want to throw up in yoga!!! Just the thought of that is exciting.

    Almost 3 weeks!

A wild journey at that! It looks like you are close to your date...congrats and good luck. We will be here waiting to hear all about it!

    Almost 3 weeks!

Oh don't get me wrong I am happy about that. It just seemed to come to a screeching halt last week. I made my fill appointment today. It is later than I would have liked, but it is exactly on the 6 week mark. And like you, I can't wait to get the go ahead to start exercising a little. I could then ride a bike to work before it starts raining. :smile2: I found that chicken of the sea has these little tuna cans...only 80 calories and packed with 18g of Protein...so I tried that out today. YUM. I also had some stew but puree it. You are right it will be awesome once we get to the real food stage. Good job on almost a month!!!!
  5. I have it too! but I had mine the day after surgery and he told me it was normal. So I haven't really paid any attention to it. Scar tissue makes sense though. I love this site...all my questions are asked by others so it makes me feel not alone
  6. Hey there! Good luck with your journey! I hear the doctors that do the surgery in Chico are good though I didn't meet any of them. I didn't go through all that as my BMI wasn't high enough for insurance to cover it. However, I did get it done in Mexico. I am on week three now so things are good as far as I can tell :banghead: My fill doctor is based in SF but I understand has a satellite office here in Chico. I do have a myspace. You can read my blog to see what all I did so far. If you have any questions please don't hesitate. There are a LOT of people on here who have a great deal of knowledge. I love this site! Keep in touch!

    Almost 3 weeks!

I am in the same boat. I was banded on the 4th and plataued this week. I dropped 20 since the original pre op and then only 1 pound last week. Was kinda a downer. I understand until I get my first fill then I probably won't be loosing too much more. It is wierd thinking it has almost been a month already though!
  8. Hello, I was banded in Mexico so I have a little different situation than most. I have a choice between two doctors and I am trying to decide which is best or more economical. One has an "unlimited visits for a year" package deal. And the other is cheaper per visit. But the more visits the better deal for the unlimited. I saw the poll for the sweet spot and it looks as though the majority is 5+ in the first year. I am just trying to get a feeling for how many to expect. How often do most of you get filled in the first year? How often are cases where you got filled and returned the next day to change it? Thanks for your help!:wink2:
  9. Yeah I decided to go with the one that is 3 hours away and satalites up here. If there is an emergency they will take me down there and other than that I agree totally...however, if you are paid in full for unlimited for a year...might as well take it. All your input is wonderful. Thanks so much!
  10. Me too. It is one of those 2 for 1 fixer uppers! They said mine was fairly big so since I didn't know I had it I guess I am glass they found it!
  11. That is good to know. I have a 10cc. So all that makes sense then. Thanks!
  12. Thanks for your input! The thing that makes it hard for me is the nearest doc that will touch me is a couple hours in a car...BUT one of them comes here once a month. I am thinking (others out there your input is more than welcome) that because of that, at least for the first year I should see them no matter what when they come to town just to check my parts and make sure all is on the up and up. In which case the package deal is better. ???? Thanks again!
  13. You are doing great. I found that every day is better and better. Don't push it too much and just keep going the way you are! Congrats on your new journey!

Am I just Bein' a Baby?

I agree, don't push yourself at all. I went back one week after the surgery and I am being stubborn about not lifting anything and just taking it easy. I unfortunately don't have the option of not working as I am sole income. If you have the option then stay home as long as you can milk it! I would have. Once you feel better maybe you will have a change of heart and start to try and connect with the coworkers. ??? Good luck, and don't push it!

    Let's Get This Party Started!

That is funny I felt the same way when I stepped on the scale for the first time. I am not sure what they do here but in Mexico they never weighed me....I am just going off the doctors visits here. 20 is a Great start for you!!!! and me. We are on our way WOOOOOOOOO:thumbup:
  16. I know the body is healing but my holes and area where the port is located is starting to get itchy for me...was wondering if anyone else had that going on???
  17. amaltha

    Is anyone else itchy?

Mine are glued I think. I am waiting for these strips to fall off...a couple have which is nice. I think I know right where the port is healing because it is itchy and a little tingly to the touch when I feel around that area. I think like will be great as soon as all the strips fall off.

    Naming your Band?

I am no where near as creative as all you guys....mine is "Lappy the lap band" So for Lappy has been good with me...I can't wait till everything is healed and I can sleep on my belly again!
  19. You are going to be great!!! Good luck and get well soon!

    Gas, Gas and more Gas

I throw gensoy powder into silk chocolate soy milk 2 times a day and that takes care of all the protein. But when I am traveling I go to the whey bullets because you don't need a blender with them or anything. They are very convenient. I haven't tried any diet drinks like crystal light yet. That would make it taste better! so far I mixed the grape bullet with strawberry kiwi juice. (I work at a juice plant so it was on hand) and I mixed fruit punch with apple juice. They seemed alright then.
  21. Hello Beckn,

I didn't get banded in Chico but do live here. You are the first person I came across that is from Chico.

Months down the road how is your band treating you now? I was only banded last Monday so it all is very new to me. I wish you the best in your journey!

    Anyone Afraid?

I was scared to death the week before my surgery. Right before surgery a weird thing happened. I was so stressed out about what was about to happen to me that my heart rate dropped to about 45 bpm. For me, when I get stressed or in shock or really scared my heart rate goes down not up. (happened before when I was almost killed in a car wreck) so that goes to show you are not the only ones who are afraid. It is natural and it too shall pass and yall will be fine! :crying:
  23. Does anyone on here dive? Where you able to dive to depths after the band? My doc says that the band should be ok with diving but I am wondering if anyone has already tried it. Thanks!
  24. amaltha

    Scuba?

Fellow Navy....good to meet you. Well next time I go diving maybe I will have a story to tell all. I did fly home from Mexico after my band was put in and it wasn't a problem at all. Heck I got to go on with the "special assistant" because I wasn't moving so good yet  Thanks to all that did respond!
  25. You will be fine Sam and Sweetpea and all the other ones for the 11! Just remember tomorrow will be day one to you new and much healthier and better you! Good Luck!
