Congrats. 29th for me. Give yourself patience. Lots of it . To me, this has been 75% mental. Follow what your team has educated you on, let yourself heal and try to keep telling yourself everyday that it gets easier and will be worth it. Heaviest weight- 375 Presurgical weight- 329 Current weight- 318 Goal - 215

    Is this normal ?

Spot on. I had my sleeve 3-29-2021 and it's just shy of a week and each day is a bit better. But man, everything you mentioned in the second paragraph is spot on. Getting used to not having energy and being patient because of no energy is challenging as I had started to light jog and do pretty intense lifting right before surgery. Gotta build all that endurance back up after healing. Looking forward to living healthier.
  4. I'm sorry you had that. I had a lot of swelling as well. Just remember this is temporary pain and inconvenience. give yourself patience. You got to this point already. The next few weeks will be over before you know it and you have the rest of your life to reap the health benefits and new lease on a healthier, more active life.
  5. That's awesome. Same for me. Monday surgery. Just started drinking protein shakes again. Was 329 at time of surgery and was 321 today. Never thought I'd be so excited for pureed foods and baby food. We got this.

Thank you. It is definitely trending that way.got out of surgery around noon on Monday and it's around 48 hours now. I'm able to drink water pretty regularly now. Definitely alot of mental challenges. Listening to your body , giving yourself time to recover and being patient most of all I would say help. Still a road ahead but glad I did it now and held off a few years ago trying to everything on my own and go back to work in a couple weeks. For background I'm a physical therapist and there is no way I would have been able to pull that off like I had planned. Greatful for my wife who has been ultra supportive and taken on a lot to allow me to finally get this done.

Hello everyone. New to the Forum. 39 yo male. I had gastric sleeve surgery yesterday March 29th and am home today. Not as bad as I thought. Swallowing is still a real shock to the system. Even with just water. I used to chug water and this is a definite challenge. Presurgery weight was 329. I'm 5'10. I had lost 45 pounds dating back to october before the surgery including 2 week liquid diet . Looking forward to these new challenges and the opportunities they bring.
