we knew my first band had problems by multiple tests confirming it would no longer hold fluid. -

I dont know what's wrong with me... I had a band originally in 2005 and (long story) it ended up having a defect, diagnosed a few months ago. I had a new band put in a few weeks ago and for some reason, i cant seem to follow my dr's post op instructions this time around. I mean, im following them but, im way ahead of them as far as time frame with the foods. I guess its because i know my body, i know how the band works, i know what to expect etc... i got off liquids 5 days sooner than the instructions said to and i moved to the "soft food stage" which is where i still am. i tried about a tablespoon of ground beef today very slowly and it was fine. I know my body and i know the band which is why ive been experimenting this time around. I guess im looking for some input. Have any of you been where I am, maybe not banded twice but, moved ahead with the food faster than you were supposed to? is it just a guideline? ive had no problems, no PB, nothing... can i damage myself by doing this? im also a huge worrier..... any input would be appreciated. Below is an email from my Dr's office... Do you think Allergan will cover this type o complication? basically my band has a bubble, aneurysm, blister (whatever you want to call it) in it and when they fill it the fluid is all going in to this bubble. Below you can see what Allergan wants to see from my Dr as he is appraoaching them to replace it... just want to know what you all think??? Ok, I finally have some information for you. Dr B let me know that we need to do a fill under fluoroscopy to show Allergan where the dye is going. So we will adjust your band while we are shooting an xray which will show Allergan the fluid is not leaking out of the band. I am having Becky work on dates for next week to get you in to do that. I will let you know once we have a better idea. We are getting closer. No, it is all accumulating in a bubble. Think of your band as having a blister except the fluid goes in but can't come out. Leak in my band..WHAT IS ALLERGAN RESPONSIBLE FOR?
vikkiann posted a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Does anyone know what they are truly liable for? Ive heard they are responsible for replacing my band? It was placed in May 2005 and I have also heard that I signed all kinds of waivers and such that said these were the kinds of complications we all signed up for the possibility of . I dont have my original paperwork. do any of you have it? Waiting for my Dr to get an answer from Allergan about replacing my band is like waiting a lifetime.. i had NO IDEA how much i really relied on this band and how much i took it for granted for that mattered. I thought it would always be there and would always be working.. the emotional distress this has caused is almost worse than my band not working...this has devastated me. I'm tired of hearing my Dr's office tell me "now is the time for you to implement all of the things you have learned over the last three years about proper eating" well, you know what?? i knew those things twenty years ago and if those things worked for me, i wouldnt have needed a band!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! any info would be greatly appreciated! let me know if this makes i to you, im not quite sure how to reply on this message board...can you email me directly at gannie71@gmail.com it sounds like we have the same EXACT problem. I will find out my answer about it being replaced tomorrow..
