Riding horses post-op
queencowgirl12 replied to BrendaK's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am on 4 weeks post op and just started my guys on some ground work as I'm in maine and no where to ride or work them over the winter. I was sleeved on 3/23. My doctor said light exercise on my 2 week post op but really wanna get back in the saddle after seeing my cousin on my stallion today. He's the Saint in my barn of 5 horses. One of my geldings who I've had since birth and is 16 this year is my next Saint in a line up. I'm just worried if anyone bucks that will be a dreadful ride in an ambulance after where my core is not strong currently. Hoping to hear from some others with a similar down time from winter storming ruining the riding activity. I'm hoping another week or two would be sufficient. I just dont want to blow anything out if I end up on the ground for any reason. And if pasta, rice and bread are problem children for 6 months, I fear riding shouldn't be done for that long either but I hope not. -
Any March Surgeries?
queencowgirl12 replied to Hopefulin2021's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have found that vitamin water zero qnd mio liquid drops have been my best friend. I also bought bariwise sugar free hot chocolate. 15 g of protein in only 8 ozs of water. Today I made two packets in 16 ozs of water. Meaning I got 30 g protein in andd 16 ozs of liquids so that is a great way to go of you're sick of shakes. -
Any March Surgeries?
queencowgirl12 replied to Hopefulin2021's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgery was March 23rd 2021. Down 21 pounds today. -
Hi all. I also am dealing with similar issues. I have the nuvaring and not even spotted in 5 years. I got down to my current weight before surgery but gained some after being canceled so many times due to covid and getting discouraged. I am now down 21 pounds since surgery on March 23rd. I started bleeding 3 days after surgery and bled for 5 days. Then a week later spotted for a day and spotting again today (hopefully for just the day). I have noticed when I am close to spotting I get extra tired a day or two before. My cramping was extreme one the first occasion but not on the spotty days. I'm hoping that my nuvaring will help me be more regular than those that use the pull but it's still irregular and spotty and not on a schedule at all. I use the ring because it worked for well for me and stopped my terrible periods years ago. I'm hoping once I level out more, that I will also at least become regular or it stops again period.

Any March 2021 Sleeve Patients?
queencowgirl12 replied to LoveSimcha's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My surgery was on March 23rd, making today a week since surgery. Down 12 lbs since surgery as of this morning. I am just looking for suggestions and here to help anyone I can also. I have found a lot of my supplements on this site. I bought the wild cherry calcium which I had a hard time with so I switched over to chewable caltrate instead and that is much smaller and settles in my new little sleeve well. I use Fairlife protein shakes that are 30 grams protein and they go down okay, a little sweet since surgery. But I have had a little intestinal upset from them. I also have IBS which they hoped this surgery might help settle but no luck so far. I do have herbalife as an option but am wondering if anyone else has experience with that after surgery or if they found a protein shake that they liked after surgery? I'm also looking for any drink mixes that have protein added like fruit punch or fruit flavored? I did try one of Premier protein drinks but was not a fan of the flavor before surgery, may be okay after but haven't dared to try. I have been able to eat Greek yogurt fine but slowly. Also some sugar free pudding. Chicken broth has been amazing and the other night I tried wonton soup broth from my local Chinese restaurant and that was an amazing change up from the usual. Hope this helps some of you too.
