    I got my date!!!

Went my surgeon Dr. Holover's office yesterday for my second consult and now I am scheduled for August 18th:thumbup:.... I am nervous:scared2: and really excited:lol: all at the same time. I really can't believe how fast everything went from my first consult on June 18th to scheduling the surgery. While I was talking to my doctor the most beautiful butterfly was flying near his window. I took that as an omen that everything was going to turn out beautiful. Everyone in his office has been extremely helpful and they know all the ins and outs of insurance. I am so glad I found this site and I know I will be out here alot in the next few weeks. Good luck to everyone. How many have lost 200 pounds...

Hi, I am also new to this site and am really glad that I found it. All the success stories are of great value to me as I start this journey. So far I have seen all the required doctors except one the cardiologist... My surgeon said that once I pass everything he should be able to schedule my surgery with in a month and half. I am scared and excited. I attended a support group meeting last week to talk to people who have had the surgery. I am for some reason on the fence about the lapband vs gastric bypass. The only reason I am on this fence is because of the amount I have to loss... and the time it could take to do it. Reading hear that some of you have been able to loose so much in relatively a short amount of time is insperational. Please keep telling your stories because they are helping me soooo much. 4. Hi, I am from Long Island New York and had my first visit with the doctor last week... So far I have scheduled all my needed medical appointments and started a diet on Monday.. My insurance does not require a 6 month diet but just thought it would be best to jump start. I have been heavy since I was a teenager and now I am 40. I recently injured my lower back and part of the reason it is not getting better is because I am over weight. I have dieted in the past and lost but always seem to gain it all back and few extra... So I thought the Lap Band would be a tool for me to lose weight and maintain all my hard work. Would really like to know if there is anyone else out here from NY . Maybe we can be Lap Band buddies...
