I think I might finally have restriction with my 3rd fill. Got it on 9/7. I now have 6 cc's. I was not able to eat but a couple of bites at lunch. In wait and see mode now.

You can be sure that as soon as I know where we are going, I will be back asking more questions. Surfing the web looking for info is just not the same as chattin with someone living there.

OK. Here goes. We will probably be in Canada on a job off and on for about 10 years. What is the temperature right now? What is the weather usually like in September? In December? We live in Louisiana, and we have no clothing for cold weather. This past winter, we may have had 3 or 4 days in the 20's, and the rest of the time, 40's to 60's. I think we only had one episode where we even had to worry about pipes freezing. Anyway, since we are not citizens of Canada, will we be able to open a checking account there? Does Chase, Capital One, or Washington Mutual have banks there? To get online, here I use AOL. Is AOL in Canada? Later, we will try to get a rent house or apartment so we can bring our dog. There are going to be so many things that are confusing. What side of the road does everyone drive on? Ridiculous, I know, to know absolutely nothing about our neighbor, but I tend to live in the here and now. And I won't know until Monday where we are even going.

My husband is going to be working in Canada, but we don't know where yet? Is there anybody here who would be interested in taking the time to answer a bunch of stupid questions?

Dr. Joya says not to drink with your meal, and to wait 30 minutes after your meal to drink. I have no trouble waiting 30 minutes.

As for fill doctors in Louisiana, do a search for the word "Louisiana", and you can read the older threads that give names and phone numbers of Louisiana fill doctors.

How did you feel when you woke up from your banding surgery?
Teasie replied to BakoGal's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My surgery was on a Thursday evening. The first time I woke up, I thought oh boy, cause it felt just like an anvil was sitting on my chest, and I remember thinking, if it is gonna feel like this all the time, they can take it back out right now. The second time I woke up, I was still in recovery, and the anvil was gone. I remember thinking, ok, this is doable. The 3rd time I woke up, they took me back to my room, and about 4 hours later, I got out of bed and walked a little bit. Then 3 hours after that, I got up and walked a lot. Was not thirsty, never had nausea, did not have a catheter, never did an x-ray or a barium swallow, I got ice chips for breakfast on Friday, a shower, then apple juice for lunch, they removed my IV before lunch time, and I left for the hotel at 1:30 that afternoon. Stayed close to hotel rest of that day, then shopping and sightseeing next day. Flew home the next. The more you walk, the better off you are. Biggest problem is gas, but that was gone by day 4. The nurses injected pain Rx into my IV every 4 hours, and I left the hospital with pain pills and antibiotics. Tomorrow is week 3 for me, and I am doing great. No pain, incisions healed, no soreness, no nausea, no problems. -
Suicidal thoughts with obesity?
Teasie replied to princess_n_thep's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I never thought about killing myself, but I did have crazy thoughts about trying to do something to kill my taste buds so that I would quit eating so much, like swishing formula 409 around in my mouth, etc. And wondered if there was anything I could swallow that would stay in my stomach and make me feel full all the time. -
Dr. David Carroll (601-352-9500) in Jackson, MS charges $150.00 for a fill. St. Dominic's Hospital 971 Lakeland Drive, Ste 1252 Jackson, MS 39216

Had the surgery on March 23. Have not had a fill yet. As long as I am losing weight, I am not going to worry about it. When the time comes, I will contact him then. There are some fill doctors in Shreveport, but the first visit there was 750.00, and then it would be 100.00 per visit. And I got a name of a doctor in Jackson that everyone seems to be happy with. I think he is 150.00 a fill also.

He is close to North Monroe Hospital. The phone number is 318-361-0145.

Dr. John Price in Monroe charges $150.00 per fill. I got that information from his office receptionist.

Will be banded on Thursday. I am looking at this as surgically placed willpower since I have none of my own. I am always hungry. Even when I have just finished a large meal, my mind tells me I am still hungry. What I wanted to know is does this make the hunger go away? Or will I still be hungry all the time, even when I finish a meal which will be much smaller meals than before.
