I’m not addicted to caffeine, but I do enjoy diet ginger ale. I like to have 2 cans with dinner. But that’s it. I drink water, diet Snapple, diet lemonade, and most things non carbonated all day long. Just at dinner, 4 days on average a week, I like my ginger ale. I’m preparing myself to wean off the diet ginger ale.

Bcbs Il ppo what has been your process?
dmason99 replied to Rucamama's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have BCBS, and I need all that stuff... the nutritionist, Endo, Card, psyc, bld wrk, sleep study, etc. Everything has been scheduled between March 31st and June 23rd. End of June, they want me to get my blood work done. I’m hoping this is only a 3-4mo process. I’d like to have my surgery in July of this year. I’m hopeful... -
My reason is to first get healthy. I have bad sleep apnea and I’m so tired ALL the time! I also have high BP and cholesterol. The 2nd reason is vanity... I want to look the best I can. I have yo-yo dieted my whole life. And I’m at my limit. I like how I feel and look when I’m thin... but I need to stop gaining it back. I’m just ready...

When did you start losing hair?
dmason99 replied to ChloeSleeved's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Collagen is a good supplement, too. I’m trying to head off the hair loss possibility by taking 10,000 of biotin, and using a collagen protein powder! I’ll be sure to continue taking after I’ve had my surgery, plus maxing out on as much protein as I can. I hope not to lose any hair, but just in case I’m being proactive. I’m using Dose & Co vanilla collagen protein powder, ... but there are others out there. It can’t hurt. -
Keeping surgery a secret? What did you tell others?
dmason99 replied to rmarierenwick's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I’ve told my boss bc I was just out on a 6 wk leave for shoulder surgery... and I need to take a few hrs off of work here and there for dr appts to get the wls approved thru insurance. I told my mom, (she’s a nurse too) who will help me thru the process... and lastly I told my sister and BIL. My sister is skinny and very weight conscience. She works out, eats healthy, etc. I wouldn’t be able to hide my restricted eating, having surgery, and all that comes with it. We are close so it’s nice to have my sister and mom to support me and talk about it with. Other than that, I’m telling NO ONE. I’m fortunately working from home thru Sept and I should have my surgery (Est July) before. People at work, family I bump into will get the...”I’ve been eating healthy, cut my portions way back, and exercising”... that’s all they need to know. If they want more specifics, “ then add high protein, low carb, no sugar... say it’s Keto”... that’s not even a lie. It’s no ones business. You don’t owe anyone an explanation. It’s your journey!
