  1. Hi Guys: I am new to this form. I had my Band surgury in January of 08, and Glad I have done it. It has been a challenge becuase I had to have two additional surgury's on my port. I have gone from a 24 to an 18 and continue to lose weight my GOAL is an 12-14.( I am 5'11) I am off all my medications, yah !!!!!! I think I have more challenges with people then the food and the surgury's. I give a thumbs up to all that have made this journey to a better and healthier life, Yes us old Dogs can learn new tricks:redface:
  2. I have blue cross 80% So far I have only had a $1500 out of pocket plus co pays for the visits after, you can check with the person who will handle the insurance claims, they will go over that with you. The office will also go over what is required fo you beofre surgury, my docotr gave me a check list. If you have been see a doctor already for you weight and You have been see a dietian already that will count, but keep in mind you have to see one every month for six months straight- they just want to make sure that you are committed to do this. it goes fast and besides they teach you what you will need to know to succed on your new life style. Brains need to rethink how we eat and they will help on this. I am glad to see that you are taking this step.

    Banded April 25th - HELP!

I would say, get your self cleaned out, ask your doctor if you can take a mild laxetive-can't spell today , you should go more offten due to the food you are eating, should go atleast 1 time a day three is better. I know it took a while for the inside to heal, but if the pain does not go away have them do a xray to see where the port is sitting. I had my port on the far left twice and now it is sitting by my bellybutton. since I have lost more weight the discomfort has gone away, my roll made it difficult to lay flat.
