I was ready to get the sleeve done in January 2021, but changed my mind at the last minute and got the Orbera balloon instead. That was the biggest mistake and waste of money I’ve ever made. I’ve been nauseous for 2 months; nauseous like morning sickness nausea that would only be helped with eating crackers or bread or soup. I’d eat and literally be starving a short time later. It did not reduce the amount of food I was able to eat either. My doctor wanted me to stick with it, and gave me all kinds of anti nausea medications, none of which helped. He said I could get the sleeve instead if I really wanted to but there needed to be a week in between removing the balloon and the sleeve surgery. I’m finally getting it removed in a couple of days, but he just told me I need to wait a whole month since the stomach wall can thicken when the balloon is in it due to constantly working to digest the balloon. I feel like he’s trying to talk me out of it since I’m just barely at a BMI of 30. Has anyone else heard of this?
