Hello, Well I am trying to have a band done. I picked out a doctor and went to the seminar only to call the next day and find out that there is a waiting list till 2010..:thumbup: :thumbs_down: So I think I found a new doctor. ANY INFO on DR. Krahn (rancho cucamonga or San Ber.) if he is your doctor please tell me what you think, how you are dealing, ANYTHING. :confused2: Thanks so much.

I am not banded yet.. but, I have had a C-section and had staples then.. I was also scared.. They dont hurt at all coming out.. They do burn.. burn like you start sweating a little bit but, no pain.I am guessing that you only have a few in the port area.. I had about 10 across.. so if you only have about 2 to 4 you might not even feel the burn till after its over. I felt the burn once the 3rd one came out and the burn stoped after because he wiped it down. They have a special cutting tool for them to cut them in half and then they just slide right out. No pain no worries.. I have had many surgeries.. and the best looking scar I have is the c section one and I think its because of the staples.. not sure if that is true for everyone..but, I think the staples holds the cut better and it heals so much nicer. So you should feel good about the staples.:thumbup:

Hello.. I have been reading ALOT..and the only thing I cant seem to understand is how do you know the size band you need.. I see some have a 4cc band and others talk about a 10 and 12cc band.. I dont get it?? I want to have some info about this to talk to my doctor about. OR is it just up to the doctor?? Any info on this would help ALOT it really is the only part I am not understanding of this whole lap band thing. Thanks.

Hey, My name is Charity. I have not had the surgery yet, but, I have found my doctor and know that my insurance will cover it. So I go on July 9th to basically an info class on it.. and if i still feel its "right" for me then I am go to go with all the per op stuff.:thumbup:
