    withdrawls

Yea if you mean cravings, I absolutely have them. For me it’s usually when I am board or emotional. I try to have lots of healthy snacks on hand at all times because of this. Even if I am going out only for a short while I will still pack a couple healthy choices in my cooler. I find that I am less likely to give In to the craving if I get to have something at least.

    Insurance Employer Length Reqs

Catwoman has a good idea. If your insurance requires a six month medically managed weight loss you can do that in the mean time. You will likely have to do it even if they do approve you to get it earlier.
  3. I’m thinking you have about a 50/50 shot of it meeting their requirements. The insurance coordinator at your dr’s office may have had some experience with something like that. You may want to consider getting started with meeting the requirements locally while they submit it if you are wanting the surgery asap. Of course it will cost you the copay and your time but if you do have to do it again at least you will have a head start.
  4. Two to three months should be plenty of time to get your questions answered and get yourself prepared I would think. You can always ask for a later surgery date if you don’t feel ready but I’m guessing you will be.

    Pizza! No flour!

Seems like you would need something else fairly dry and powdered in its place to make the consistency turn out the same. Maybe some mild seasonings? Of course you wouldn’t want to add 1/4 cup of seasonings, but Maybe a little more cheese and then some mild seasonings.

Congratulations on your loss so far. Awesome NSV and good excuse to enjoy more concerts and festivals. Gotta build up that wardrobe.

    WHAT is this???

Hopefully you are about to call your dr now. I agree with others that you should be seen right away. Perhaps tell them that you are willing to wait to be fit in between patients. Be sure to emphasize that you believe you have blood in your stool and fear that you are bleeding somewhere. If they absolutely say they can’t fit you in ask if someone can at least call you asap to let you know if it sounds emergent. If it does sound emergent ask if you should request any particular dr at the hospital. Of course you can’t always get who you want but sometimes there is an option. Basically just don’t be nice and agreeable and let them push you off. Keep asking questions until you get the help you need. And keep us updated when you have time.

WHAT does religion have to do with me having surgery??????

I would love to see them stick to the pre and post op diets for even a week and then say that it’s the easy way out. Cutting ties with people is never easy but sometimes it’s necessary. I’m glad you put that unnecessary negativity behind you.

    Fatty Liver almost Cirrhosis

It’s a big decision and one only you can make but I agree that you definitely will find tons of support here. Not to say that you don’t want his support but there have been many people who had unsupportive significant others. Most seem to come around to the idea eventually. taking them along to a couple dr appointments seems to help. By letting them voice their concerns and have the dr or NP explain things. I think it helps to hear from a doctor that it is a relatively safe surgery and also that your odds of losing weight on your own just really aren’t great after you get to be a certain size as well as their account of how many people have reversed some if not all of their medical issues by losing weight.

    Discouraged

If it’s because if fluids and swelling that will fluctuate until you get the issue sorted. I know it’s hard to do but if you are truly sticking to your plan it’s not a real weight gain, Try to ignore fluctuations like that.

Rough 3 months and Just Need to Vent!

I don’t have any experience with anything like what you are going through but want to just say I’m sorry that you are experiencing all that. They do have some newer weight loss drugs that are said to be good if you just have a few pounds to lose but they are still having a hard time getting them covered by some insurance. I guess they are really diabetes drugs and they would be covered but for that use. Hopefully they do cover them soon for weight loss but it’s worth looking into. Maybe your one of the lucky ones that your insurance will cover it now.

    How to deal with family?

I am so glad that you are starting to realize that what your family has been doing is wrong and you have broken ties. All you can do about your mom is continue to be there for her and offer her support but get yourself even stronger so that you are better equipped to help her if she does decide to leave. Is there any way to get her tapes or something so she can start learning English? Maybe her and her friend could learn the language and practice together?
  13. Some people who just absolutely cannot take the vitamins do the patches. Thete is not a ton of research to back their effectiveness but I have seen a few people on here who claim their labs have been good. It couldn’t hurt to try if nothing else is working??

    Post Op: Struggling a little

I’m pretty sure if your urine is light then your hydrated but of course I am not a doctor. If the headache could be explained by the sweeteners and your urine is light that just leaves the nausea that’s unexplained. It couldn’t hurt to give them a ring. At the very least they can give you something to take for the nausea.

    Post ops liquids

Many of us can’t reach our water or protein goals the first several days. Just do your best and if you see signs of dehydration contact your team and they should be able to arrange for fluids as an outpatient. Try different flavors and different temperatures too. Some people can handle hot tea and such or room temp over cold. Also remember that all fluids count towards your goal for most programs. Sugar free popsicles also help.

    Post Op: Struggling a little

I believe both headache and nausea are both signs of dehydration. Is it possible the headache is not from the sweeteners? Is the nausea unexplained? If you have other signs such as dark urine you may need to get some fluids via iv. I would first try to call your team to see if they can arrange for it as an out patient. They should have someone on call to answer on the weekends but I’m not sure if they can arrange for fluids after hours. If you can’t get that then you should really consider going to the ER.
  17. I’m saying that some people try to and that why you probably had to have all those tests to prove it. I just know that the insurance companies make all these obstacles to jump through because they don’t believe people really have it. I’m assuming that’s because some people did fake it at some point.
  18. Okay I have no idea how or if you intended to alter my quote but I did not say all that. Anyone reading this please refer back to my original post.

My brain still thinks I'm a size 28

It’s good that you are taking pictures. I started off taking them but forgot somewhere along the way. Looks like you are doing fantastic. Keep up the good work.
  21. Good. Hopefully they can give you something different to manage it or get the process started to do a revision. My fingers are crossed for you that they figure it out very soon.
  22. If you search Turkey there are a few posts. You could either post to those threads or send private messages to those people and they should get an email so even if they are no longer active they will see it and you may get more replies??

Caffeine - 7th day post op

So, what did you decide to do? Hopefully you figured it out and had a great time out with your friends.

    Low weight loss

I think you sound like you are right in track. You were a lower BMI to start so your loss will be a little slower than some others on here and significantly slower than what you see on tv shows where people start at much higher weights.

    High protein snacks

Wow. I love your gas station too. I haven’t been able to find many good options around here. I thought The quest reeces were pretty yummy. I think I got them at Walmart near the protein bars. I would put them in a ziplock so I would have it with me because most times I was satisfied with only one cup. The puffs and the pop tarts I have not seen yet. I will have to check around for those. I agree that you gotta splurge sometimes and it’s better to splurge on something like that. I guess we are all different in how we manage this journey though. Thanks for the suggestions.
