Woo Hoo! Doc said I can have real chicken, Tuna and Egg Salad!!
ShoppGirl replied to ShoppGirl's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Never thought of broccoli cheese soup. I love that. I was technically on purée phase till my appt today but I guess he sorta switched me to soft food phase since he said I don’t have to purée the salads anymore. -
Hopefully you already did something about this but if doctor office is closed they should have someone on call that you can talk to but if you are contemplating going to ER you probably just should. Trust your body. If it says something is wrong it probably is.

Having trouble eating!nothing tastes good
ShoppGirl replied to Nanagrrl3's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Try different temperatures of the fluids to get more down. Mine was easiest over Ice but most people have said Warmer is better. Even hot cocoa has been a tip. I had a problem with getting enough fluids and I called my dr and told him urine was dark and they scheduled me to go back to hospital as outpatient and get two bags of fluids. That really helped. -
Any April 2021 surgeries?!

Trust me. I bought a new robe and two nightgowns even. But didn’t use any of it. Brought pajama pants too based on someone’s comment on here and it was all I needed. -

Yea and you will have all the wires attached after surgery in which you must wear their robe so no point to bring that either unless you want to ask them to unhook all that so you can change gowns which most people don’t feel up to all that. -
They have them in other brands too. Idk what it is about them that bothers you. I just like the premier cause it’s the higher protein count. Just type clear protein though there are several.
-
Also consider clear protein drinks. They aren’t nearly as sweet which was mg issue with shakes after surgery. Premier protein has fruit punch and peach flavor on Amazon.

The 50% is after a little regain for the average person. They consider you to be a success if you lose and keep off 50% of your excess weight. Most sleepers loose around 60% excess weight but gain back a little. That being said the actual range is very broad so it could be quite a bit more or less and I’m guessing these extremes are depending on how much effort you put into it.

You can add unflavored protein to your pudding. Genepro has 7.2grams in a scoop (and the scoop is pretty small) so you could add at least a half if not a full scoop to a pudding?? This doesn’t add any variety which I know your looking for but adding protein may help you feel better to be able to tolorate more variety?? -

Are you just drinking two protein shakes cause they are hard to get down? CauSe they say protein and fluid are most important and they were hard for me so I tried the clear protein and found them much easier to drink. I did three a day for 60 g of protein plus whatever soup or pudding etc I had. But if you are feeling that nauseous maybe you should talk to dr. Maybe he can give rx for nausea. -

I felt The same way. Everything in life was referred to in terms of where I would be at in my surgery timeline. Lol. Once you start your preop it should seem to Go a little faster for you. These chats helped me a lot as well. -
Any March 2021 Sleeve Patients?
ShoppGirl replied to LoveSimcha's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was the 9th as well and so far have had very good luck. From my research I was expecting pain of 7 or 8 on a scale of ten and fortunately had nothing like that. I had post op appt today and it was all Good news. I am so happy I made the decision to take this journey. I think it’s the best decision I ever made for myself. -

Yes bring it. People mentioned it and I didn’t get it and regretted it. You will probably only need it for like a day but it would be a huge help. So much so I’m surprised they don’t give it to you at hospital. That and chap stick. My hospital gave me some but just in case. -
I had the same concern. Everyone says you feel the real restriction when you get to solid foods. I’m not there yet but also learned that most people eat about 6 times a day on the puréed and liquid diets.

I like the premier protein clear because it has 20 grams of protein for In the beginning at least cause it’s so hard to get in the protein. I only found on Amazon in two flavors so I may switch to another brand once I can get some solid foods in through. -

I had my bday the day before pre op diet started and I celebrated early so I didn’t have to go from restaurant food to liver shrinking diet overnight. I guess you have to skip the big meal alltogether this year. It will be well worth it though. Best gift you could ever give yourself. Happy Borthday. 🥳 -

Welcome. My surgery was 3/9 and I found this community just before that. I am so glad I did. The tips and tricks are great but the support in general is incredible. Comgrats on your surgery. -

I’m guessing they meant pre op diet. Or pre op appointment at hospital (some people have a separate appt for that). -

I am two weeks post op Tuesday and I eat two ounce portions but I eat more than three times a day. Am I eating too much? I feel like the purée food just goes right through and my belly never feels full. I am still losing weight??
-
Thank you. I was trying to do three but I was doing four or five and wanting more. I thought I was never going to be successful if I was still this hungry and not supposed to be.

Tips for getting 64oz of water daily
ShoppGirl replied to Mark P3's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
They also sell water bottles with the little marks on them on Amazon for when your back to work. You should be past the medicine cup stage by then. I found that the clear protein drinks are great cause they meet two goals with one drink. -
Your doctor should have someone on call for things like that. If you are still concerned I would call them.
