Misunderstood and ate what I shouldn’t.
ShoppGirl replied to ShoppGirl's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Thank you for realizing that I know this was a mistake and offering suggestions and help. I called the dr office and told them how embarrassed I am that I misread and asked if there is anything I can do or do I have to just wait and see. The nurse practitioner is supposed to call me. Hopefully before she leaves today. -
A month after sleeves and flatulence nonstop for 3 days
ShoppGirl replied to jadore's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Haven’t reached a month yet but hopefully I will not have similar experience. Please update when you figure it out for those of us that are close behind you. -

Any March 2021 Sleeve Patients?
ShoppGirl replied to LoveSimcha's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I’m similar. Haven’t felt the restriction yet. And someone else told me that you feel it more once you get to solid food. I haven’t got there yet so idk but that’s what I was told by someone on here. -
I had six including the pin prick one. Three are about an inch, two are like 3/4 inch.

Tiny. My largest one is just over an inch and the smallest looks like a pin prick. I’m guessing in a year I won’t be able to find them.

Getting Sleeve and Spouse/Family support
ShoppGirl replied to Ruddigore's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I would have your wife go with you to talk to your doctor and ask her questions. As for the 80% divorce rate i’m pretty sure it also says it makes a good marriage better and a bad marriage worse. Maybe that will help her feel better about it. -
I am running out of ideas of what to eat at this stage. Can I have a burrito? Soft taco? Other suggestions please.
-
Talk to your doctors about any issues and hang in there. It’s well worth it.

Any April 2021 surgeries?!
ShoppGirl replied to KidaandRoux's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
They are expensive but it’s an investment in yourself. Most nutritionists try to get you off the shakes as soon as possible and getting your protein from real food. To do that you will be spending more on food though so just keep that in mind. These are not really temporary expenses. They are lifelong commitments. -
Any good post op pureed/liquid food recommendations?
ShoppGirl replied to Lahela's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I made chicken In the insta pot at that stage and it was very moist. I think that is the point of using canned. Maybe your dietitian will allow that. -
Starting my wls journey but I dislike the dietitian at the clinic.
ShoppGirl replied to lussa's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Before surgery I met with the dietician once to explain the pre op and post op diets. Then in the hospital I seen a different one that briefly explained the post op stuff again. I haven’t seen or needed to see her since. -
Diet changes leading up to surgery
ShoppGirl replied to NewMe_2021's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You may also want to try not drinking 30 minutes before or after meals a few times although you don’t have to do that in the beginning because food is not solid but it was good for me to just know o could do it. Also don’t forget no straws. -
How long did you have to wait for your initial consult?
ShoppGirl replied to DoodlesMom's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mine was less than two weeks. Maybe they have a cancellation list that could get you in sooner. Or another doctor at the practice?? -
What are powdered peanuts? Do you make yourself from whole peanuts or is it like PB Fit?? Or something else like almond flour??
-
That ricotta bake is pretty darn good. In a pinch it would work with regular pasta (maybe chicken pea pasta now) if out of lasagna noodles.

I just learned that my hospital has nutrition class as well as post op support groups and they are considering starting cooking classes. If they do I will post the recipes as I learn them but you may consider asking your facilities dietitian if they will do something similar.

Any April 2021 surgeries?!
ShoppGirl replied to KidaandRoux's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Congrats on your surgery date!! -
My doc said caffeine was even okay like one cup at two week post op. Assuming you aren’t having problems getting your fluids in cause that’s why they say not to drink it is it’s a diuretic.

Good luck 🍀

You know they have panara soups at the grocery store now too. I love the broccoli cheese one. Had some today for lunch. -

Sorry, just excited. Just finished two weeks post op and dr said I don’t have to do purée anymore as long as I take it super slow and easy. I am soooo glad cause I hated that stage worse than liquids. Anyone have any other super soft and moist recipes? I haven’t even checked my book yet I just came home and made a chicken breast In the instapot first thing. Lol -

Hello and welcome. You will definitely find advice, support and motivation here on this site. Second to the surgery, joining this site is the best decision I have made for myself. People are so kind and helpful. Congrats on your surgery date and don’t be too nervous. We all were but it’s a good decision and the day will be here soon enough. Best of luck. -
Help!! Surgery in two days!! Advice needed
ShoppGirl replied to Mark P3's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
One thing someone on here suggested and I was so glad was pajama pants. Forget the robe cause of all the wires but you will want to cover up when waking outside of your room. Dry mouth spray and chapstick will also be helpful but other than that maybe an iPad or phone if you are awake but you will mostly just want to sleep at least the first day.
